Duck Dynasty

We have a new favorite tv show at our house…

After hearing friends rave about this hysterical show, we finally gave into watching it this week. I am SO glad we did! Josh laughs so hard some episodes that I think he might cry! Seriously, it’s that funny!

If you aren’t familiar with the show, here is a little snippet about it from A&E website

Ask anyone in Louisiana and they'll tell you that the bayou state's favorite first family doesn't live in the governor's mansion but in the backwoods, where the Robertsons' rags-to-riches story is still unfolding. A homegrown mom-and-pop operation, Duck Commander has become a sporting empire by fabricating top-of-the-line duck calls and decoys out of salvaged swamp wood.

This newly minted multimillionaire family is kept in line by business-savvy Willie, who runs Duck Commander with the help of his brother Jase, their respective wives Korie and Missy, patriarch and founder of the company, Phil, and uncle Si. Together they run a booming business that employs half their neighborhood, but at the end of the day, you can find the whole family around matriarch Miss Kay's dinner table.

Each episode brings a new set of challenges, met with a special brand of Southern know-how and a down-home sense of humor.

If you aren’t watching, (and you should give it a try if you aren’t) you can catch it tonight on A&E!

Are any of you watching, or are we the only obsessed Duck Dynasty Fans? :)

We love it also!! It is so funny how Phil hates modern technology ~ I don't think he's going to win that one with the grandkids. I have been grossed out a few times watching them prepare food ~ especially squirrel! It is so great watching a loving close-knit family. The family that prays together ~ stays together!

My favorite quote so far is Phil telling his grandson that he needed to find a girl who "knows how to cook, carries her Bible and lives by it, and loves to eat bullfrog."

My husband thinks it is hands down the best show EVER. Unfortunately, he has an obsession with the Duck Commander's beard. Fortunately for me, he can't grow facial hair, ha!

Oh Jennifer, How funny! Brian and I love watching this show!! As a matter of fact last night Brian was in a panic that we were not in front of a TV AT 9! I reassured him I had already recorded the episode on DVR so we wouldn't miss one minute of Duck Dynasty. Love it. So funny...and I found out they tour the US speaking. Phil will be in my hometown Nashville, AR in Mid August... They talk about the gospel when they speak, which made me love them even more! Can't imagine how the rest of their speaking goes...especially after last nights career day episode! Classic!

You know my Louisiana man loves this show! We are OBSESSED! It has quickly become our favorite over Swamp People! "You need to find a woman who does two things- cooks and carries a Bible." Miss you guys!

We love this show! My husband has been a fan of the duck commander for years and years and we were so excited when we saw that they were making a reality show about them!! By the way I have never left a comment but I have read your blog for a while. I have a little girl about the same age as Jillian and they remind me of each other!!!

So funny because my husband literally just told me today that this is his "new favorite show" haha I wondered who else in this world was watching but apparently many!! So funny!!

I also kept hearing about. We live in Louisiana, and to be honest I am sick of all of the reality shows that make LA people look SO DUMB and UNEDUCATED!!! I can't stand Swamp People. It just perpetuates the myth that all of us have swamps for back yards and fight off alligators!! HOWEVER, I love the fact that Duck Dynasty has no bleeped out cuss words. It's something that we can actually watch as a family! And they do say some HILARIOUS stuff!

Uncle Si asking those kids if they had ever heard of "'Nam" was, arguably, the most awesome thing I have ever seen!

I have to thank you for writing about this show because, on a whim, I set my DVR to record it based on your recommendation. My husband was super skeptical...he's from Louisiana and, like someone else wrote, he hates it when LA folks are made to look stupid on tv. Long story short, we love Duck Dynasty now! We laugh so hard sometimes at the things they say. I think it's made my husband a little homesick :) And this California girl may never get the image of a skinned squirrel in Miss Kay's kitchen out of my mind...ha!
