Vacation-Day 5

We left Destin on Friday to come home, but not before we made a quick trip to the beach and pool!

When we got down to the beach early that morning we noticed a huge jelly fish. This is a picture of it. I’m not even exaggerating when I tell you it was the the size of a basketball. We soon realized that these were everywhere! There were about 30 or more jelly fish this size along the short portion of the beach we had been at all week! I was glad we were leaving that day!

Despite the jelly fish, the water was super clear that morning! It was clear all week, but it was exceptionally clear the morning we left!

Here is luggage for the four of us for the week! I thought we packed fairly light considering we were gone a week and have a baby and a toddler! We had a big suitcase, a duffle bag with toiletries, pack-n-play, beach chair for Brody, my pump, and a bag we used for an overnight bag when we stayed in a hotel on the way down. We bought the blue bag to take beach toys back home in and the Cater’s bag was stuff we bought while down there.

We could not have fit one more thing in that car if we tried! 4 adult, 2 kids, and all of our things took up the entire car!! :)

We had a wonderful vacation and loved every minute we got to spend as a family and enjoyed making memories on our first vacation with Jillian! It was a great ending to a great summer!!

Now, bring-on fall and football! :)

Vacation-Day 4

Thursday was our last full day on the beach! We all had another wonderful day of playing and swimming!

I wanted to try to get a few pictures of the kids on the beach Thursday night!  Jillian didn’t like the sand! She loved it the first day and hated it every day after that! When we put her down in it for the pictures, she had a melt-down so needless to say, we never got a great picture of the 2 of them!

Brody is looking so old! It’s bittersweet! I love so many things about having an almost 3-year-old, but I cannot believe how quickly he is growing!

I have seriously had the hardest time blogging pictures from our vacation! I took 1300 in 5 days and it’s been hard to narrow them down! :) Just a few more pictures to go and then I will be back to normal day-to-day blog post!

Vacation-Day 3

We got home from Destin yesterday! We are completely unpacked, the suitcases are back in the attic, and all the laundry has been done and put away. It feels SO good to have that all done! Now, I’m just trying to catch-up on daily posts from our trip! Here are a few pictures of our day on Wednesday.

Brody asked me to hold him at one point, which is very unusual, and within 5 minutes, he was asleep! He wore himself out daily playing so hard.

Before we left to go eat that night! Brody was stuffing his mouth with animal crackers and Jillian was laughing at him! This was the best picture we took that night! :)

Brody asleep again at dinner. He completely slept through the entire meal!

This makes me laugh! He just needed a little power nap and then he was good to go the rest of the evening!

We went shopping that night after we ate and the mall had a little play area. Brody was sweet and pushed Jillian for a little while!

Vacation Tans

I haven’t gotten around to posting about our day yesterday, but I thought I would share a couple of pictures of the kids that make us laugh!

Brody has always gotten a good tan in the summers! We always put 50spf on him and he still tans easily. We put the same sunscreen on Jillian her skin stays so fair. Thankfully, neither of them have burned this week, but you can look at these pictures and see a big difference in skin color!

Jill and I were the same way growing-up. She was also so tan and I was always so white (or red) after being in the sun. I posted a pic on Twitter last night and several people said their children were the same way…one that tans easily and one that does not.

Vacation-Day 2

We had another great day at the beach today! Lots of swimming, digging in the sand, and laying out!

Brody and Josh dug a hole and then Brody buried his legs in the hole! :)

Try not to be jealous of the blotchy burn I got today. It takes talent to only get sunscreen on certain parts of your upper arm! Ha!

I took this picture when we were eating because I wanted to remember how curly Jillian’s hair was from the humidity! It’s normally kind of curly at the ends, but it has been really curly this week! So cute! Also, look at Brody’s funny face in this picture! I love it!

After we ate, we went to the mall to let Brody play at the splash pad and outdoor play area.

We are looking forward to another fun-filled day tomorrow!
