MOPS Hay Maze Trip

We went with our MOPS group to a fun, little hay maze last week. This place was made specifically for children so it made it very easy to take a all our children to without fearing we would loose one in the maze! :)
The 3 of us. Poor sister was loosing her headband and bow! Brody liked playing on the hay bales with his friends, Porter and Caedmon.
After having fun in the hay maze (Thanks, Melissa, for taking Brody with you!) Brody went to find buried treasures in this pool of corn. Side note- Brody apparently put some of the corn in his pockets and them emptied his pockets when we got home, because I have been finding this corn in random places in our house for a week. I'm not joking! Brody LOVES tractors so he was thrilled to get to "drive" this one! He didn't understand why he had to get down and let other children have a turn. :)Brody took a little ride on the cow train! I think it was actually a horse train at this place. He had a great time! There was a four wheeler that pulled the train and he talked about the "fur wee-wer" all afternoon! He would say, "That fur wee-wer said, 'room room'!" Haha! I love to hear his sweet voice say cute things like this.
Caedmon and Brody were ready for a ride!
They had a fun rope swing for the kids. Brody told the lady working it that he just wanted to jump! Ha! So that's what he did! We ended the morning on the hay ride! I was thankful for a few volunteers who watched the little babies so we could ride with our older children.

We had such a great time!I love that going to the pumpkin patch other activities like these are part of my job description!! ;)

Jillian's First Razorback Game

Saturday, we took Jillian to her first Razorback game! I guess she technically went to her first game earlier this season when I was still pregnant. :)

We parked at a parking deck a few blocks from the stadium so I decided to use my moby wrap to carry Jillian to the game. She loved being carried in it and actually slept until we got to our seats about an hour later.
The view from our seats.

She laid in Josh's lap the entire first quarter and never made a sound. :)
The game lasted soooo long! They had to suspend play of the game 2 different times because of storms. Each time they did, they had to clear the stadium and send people to covered areas or to the cars since there was lightening. Thankfully, the weather didn't affect us at all and we were able to just stay in our seats until the storm past both times.
Here is a picture of one of part of the stadium when they cleared it. It was so weird to see the stadium empty!
The same section after everyone was allowed back to their seats. I was surprised so many people stayed after having to leave their seats and come back two different times. These are some hardcore fans! The 3 of us near the end of the game! Jillian was tired after the long game! It lasted 5 hours because of the rain and we were there 6 hours total since we got there an hour before the game. I was about ready to take a nap, too! :) Jillian did so well! She is so easy to take places. She didn't cry any during the game! Such a sweet girl!
We left the game and went home to see our big boy!! We had missed him but I'm not sure he really missed us! Ha! Josh's parents came up and kept him so we could go to the game. We went to eat with Josh's parents after we got home and then the 4 of us stopped by the Greens house to see their family. Brody had a great time entertaining everyone.
This is the only picture I got while we were there. Allison was attempting to read Brody a book but I think it lasted about 5 seconds and then he was ready to move again! :)

Hope you are having a great week!

Finally Friday

I think Brody is cheering in this picture because it's finally Friday!

It's been a long week. I think the sleepless nights with a newborn, along with the exhaustion from chasing a busy two year old all day after getting little sleep at night has finally caught-up with me and I'm TIRED! We have no plans tonight and I am very excited about that. I probably should do some laundry so we have some clean clothes to wear. I am little behind on laundry! :)Saturday, we are planning on going to the Razorback game. Since we have indoor seating and since I am nursing, we are taking Jillian with us. It should be fun! And maybe, just maybe, I will get to take a nap at some point this weekend since Josh will be home to help! He is such a big help!! I'm so thankful for him. Someone in our house has started to smile and when she smiles or her brother gives me a huge hug, it makes me totally forget about this tiring week! They are such a blessing!!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Girls Night Out

I met the moms from our playgroup for dinner tonight to celebrate Sara's birthday! It was my first time out with friends since Jillian was born and it could not have come at a better time. I was very ready for some girl time! I took Jillian with me and she was wonderful. She slept the entire time we were at dinner. We had such a great time just talking and eating. I am so thankful for these girls and their friendships. They are some of the funniest people I know! I seriously laugh so much when I am with them. I also love that we are all in the exact same season of life and can all relate to each other so well. They are such an encouragement to me!

On our way out the door to dinner! Brody and Josh had a boys night at the house. They had a great time together! I look forward to guys night and girls night in the future when Brody and Josh go out and do guy things and Jillian and I go shopping and do girly things. :) We truly have the best of both worlds with these two precious babes! Funny story...When I got home tonight Josh and I put Brody in bed. Josh prayed for Brody and then Brody wanted to pray. We still have to kind of tell him what to pray for so tonight Josh suggested Brody thank God for Jillian so Brody said, "Dear God, Thank you for Brody and thank you for Brody. Amen!" It was really funny and sweet! Hopefully, he is thankful for his sister even if he wouldn't say it! Ha!

Our Weekend

We started off our weekend by heading to a local pumpkin patch/corn maze on Friday night to meet up with some of our playgroup friends! We decided to go that evening so that the daddies could go with us after work. Brody was so excited to have Josh there!I was so glad Josh was there to join in on the fun, too! I also loved having the extra help since I am still getting used to taking 2 kids places. :)The first thing we did when we got there was let the kids ride the cow train. This is the entire cow train. Brody really enjoyed riding it! He kept asking if he could ride it again! After the ride was over and the tractor was parked, the nice tractor driver let all the kids taking turns sitting on the tractor. Brody LOVED getting to do this, especially since he is slightly obsessed with tractors. He was pretty devastated that he couldn't drive the tractor. He was sobbing at this point. Poor guy!He even had real tears. Josh helped take Brody's mind off of the tractor by taking him to shoot the corn cannon. He had a great time sending corn cobs flying across the field! Jillian just hung out in her car seat in the stroller. Sweet girl. We rode the hayride to the pumpkin patch and then headed home. We didn't do the corn maze. It would have been a little scary trying to not lose our toddlers in a huge corn maze! :) Here is our family before we left. We had such a great time! My family came over after we got home that evening and brought Jillian's cake for her one month cake party!

Josh let me sleep in a little Saturday morning while he took care of Jillian and fed Brody breakfast. He even brought me breakfast in bed! Sweet guy! That afternoon, we went to a birthday party to celebrate Noah's First Birthday. The party was at their house. It was a Halloween/costume themed party for the kids. Helga had it decorated so cute! There was great food and they had a tv outside so we could all watch the Razorback game. There was also a little area set up where you could paint pumpkins. It was really fun!
Their house is an old farm house and there are horses right beside their property. The owners were out riding the horses so they brought the horses over to the fence so the kids could pet them. Zach and Brody really liked the horses! This silly boy didn't want to keep his Halloween costume on at the party. We spent Saturday evening at home watching the game and hanging out! It was nice to not have anything to do.

We went to church Sunday morning. It took all of our energy to get up and get ready after the long night we had with Jillian. I got close to 3 hours of sleep and Josh got about the same amount. I think it's funny I bragged on her this weekend about how well she was starting to sleep and then she decided to not sleep on Saturday night. Doesn't that seem to always happen? Ha! Sunday evening we had The Greens over for dinner. We love getting to have dinner with them every other week! They are such wonderful friends and we enjoy spending time with them. Ryan and Josh have known each other since preschool and have been friends all through school. It's fun that our kids get to be great friends now as they grow-up! Payne and Jillian had a date in their bouncy seats. :) I guess Brody got jealous that he didn't have a bouncy seat so he sat in Payne's when he wasn't using it. Ha! Pictures like this remind me how big Brody has gotten over the past several months! Brody loves Payne!!! When he talks about him he says, "my Payne!"We have a fun, busy week ahead with something planned almost every day! Maybe we can get a little rest this week, too! ;)

Happy One Month, Jillian!

Yesterday, Jillian turned one month old! If you have read my blog for a while, you know we did a monthly cake party for Brody every month of the first year. I took his picture with all of his monthly cakes and used the pictures at his first birthday party so everyone could see how much he grew the first year. Of course, we are going to continue that little tradition with each child we have, so last night was Jillian's one month cake party!

Here is her cute, little cake!
The side view Jillian wore boots and leggings for the first time yesterday! I squealed a little when I put them on her because she just looked so cute! She has tiny feet so the boots are still a little big. I think she will be able to wear them most of the fall. Thanks, Aunt Jill, for the cute outfit!Cutie pie! I love her double chin! Jillian was not to thrilled in this picture!I think she was just upset that she wasn't going to get to enjoy any cake. Ha! Daddy couldn't stand to hear his sweet girl cry so he came to the rescue! And after a little loving from both of us, she was a happy girl again!
What you did this month:
- You are wearing newborn diapers still and some newborn clothing. This last week I have been putting you in 0-3 month clothing and they fit.

- We weighed you a week ago (3 1/2 weeks) and you weighed over 10lbs!

-You are nursing like a champ. It has been very easy for us and I am very thankful for that. You have gotten yourself on a good nursing schedule. You nurse every 3 hours during the day and have been going 4-4.5 hours at night the past few nights. Most of the month you were going every 2 hours at night or every 3 somtimes. I am excited about every 4 hours!!!

-You are still sleeping in our room at night. I am honestly shocked by this since we moved your brother to his crib at 2 weeks. I am just too tired to walk across the house in the middle of the night this time around. Ha!

-You sleep great in your crib during the day. I think you love your girly room!

-You have started getting into a really great eat, wake, sleep cycle during the day so I think you and Babywise are going to get along well. ;)

-You LOVE your bouncy seat. You do not love your swing.

-You are an easy baby but even though you are easy you are SO dramamtic! Bless your heart.

- You are starting to be more alert during the day. You are very content to just sit and look around.

-You do pretty well sleeping through your brother's loud noises! I guess you are getting used to it.

-You rarely take a pacifier. When we give it to you, you usually gag.

-You seem to like tummy time.

-This past week you were having tummy time while I was doing a few things around the house. When I looked over at you, you were on your back just looking around!! Apparently, you can roll over but we just haven't actually watched you do it. Your brother rolled over from tummy to back between 4 and 5 weeks, too. I'm going to try to catch you doing it soon!

-You make the absoulte saddest pouty face.

-Your daddy is crazy about you, your brother adores you and I love you to pieces. We cannot imagine life without you now!

Happy One Month, sweetie!
