Fun Wednesday

Brody and I had a fun day yesterday! I just love my time at home with him so much. Today is his last day of MDO and I am looking forward to him being home with me everyday this summer. He is just so fun!

We started off the morning a little early. Brody is a great sleeper and usually sleeps until 8 most mornings. Yesterday morning, he woke-up at 6:30. He ate breakfast and then decided to check his baby's heart beat. :) It's funny how quickly he picks-up on the things that I do and wants to do them as well. We played for a little while that morning and made a little mess in the living room!
I decided to make pancakes later in the morning for my breakfast and for Brody's morning snack, since he had eaten breakfast so early. Brody helped me mix all the dry ingredients.
He enjoyed the two little pancakes I made him. He was saying, "three" in this picture because I counted '1,2,3' before I took the picture. He does this almost every time I take his picture now!
He had a few pancake bites left in his bowl, so he decided to throw them all over the kitchen floor. I looked at him and sternly said, "that was a no-no" and he hysterically started to cry. He hates getting in trouble. He is so sweet and sensitive. I was the same way when I was little. Maybe not as sweet, but very sensitive when I got in trouble.
After the crying episode, I put Brody down for his morning nap and started cleaning-up the kitchen. I decided to go ahead and make brownies for our small group that night before since the kitchen was already a mess from making pancakes. My favorite part of making brownies is getting to eat the leftover batter once I put the brownies in the oven to bake. :)
Ready to cut!
We headed to meet my mom for lunch after Brody woke-up from his nap. (Another picture of him counting to 3! Ha!)
After lunch, we stopped by Rick's Bakery to pick-up a birthday cake for our friend Ryan. His birthday was Wednesday so we had cake during small group to celebrate! Brody got a cookie while we were there and we sat and watched them decorate cakes. It was really neat to watch. As many times as I have been there, I have never taken the time to watch them decorate. It was fun! Here is Ryan's cake. I just picked-up a pre-made cake when I went to Rick's. I didn't order it ahead of time because I wasn't sure if he and Sarah were coming so I text Sarah earlier in the day to ask and then also asked her what kind of cake and icing Ryan liked. This explains why it's a little girly! Ha!
Brody ate dinner with my parents and played at their house while we had small group. Josh and I went to pick him up at their house and then came home and ate a late dinner. We felt bad not letting Brody eat when we were eating so he had apple slices and peanut butter for a snack while we ate and then he headed to bed.
Thanks for a fun day, sweet boy!

Mall-Mart

One day last week I told Brody we were going to go to Walmart. That entire morning he would look at me and say, "Mall-Mart", like he was begging to go right that moment. I decided to get him saying it on video. It's so cute, but my favorite part of the video is at the end when he just walks aways and says, "Bye-bye!"

22 Weeks

I look like a pregnant girl this week! It's kind of crazy how much I grew in one week...or how much Jillian grew in one week! :)

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 22 Weeks
Size of baby: 11 inches long and weighs almost one pound. She is the length of a spaghetti squash!
Total Weight Gain/Loss: Gained 10lbs
Maternity Clothes: I can still wear my normal jeans and clothes as of right now but I don't like the way some of my normal shirts look on me. All my maternity clothes are still way too big except for fitted tank tops and two shirts. I am sure in the next few weeks I will start needing those maternity clothes.
Gender: Girl!
Movement: Yes! I love it! It's my favorite thing about pregnancy!
What I miss: I really can't say I miss a thing.
Sleep: I think I sleep pretty well for being pregnant. I have dreams that wake me up nightly and now I am waking-up to go to the bathroom but it could always be worse.
Symptoms: Crazy dreams and indigestion. I am starting to get heartburn and reflux from drinking water. Ha! And I thought the morning sickness was over but it's still not. I got sick 2 mornings this past week. I think she is fiesty! :)
Best Moment this week: Seeing Jillian move and kick. It's so fun to lay and watch her move around!
What I am looking forward to: My appointment next week!

Here is a real belly picture. You can see definitely see her in this picture!

And I had to show you these CUTE dresses from Gap that my friend, Maggie, brought over for Jillian.
I just love them! I think she needs a pair of cowboy boots to wear with them. :) I am sure see will look precious in these next summer. I am seriously loving all these cute, girly things!

Library Date and Super Easy Chocolate Pie

Brody and I had an afternoon date at the library yesterday. I love our city's library and I love taking Brody with me when I visit. Yesterday was the first time I didn't take him in the stroller. I just let him walk around on his own. I was feeling brave! Ha!

This is part of the children's area at our library. It is so nice and SO child friendly! It is on a separate floor from the adult area so I don't have to stress about Brody being too loud. :)

He worked a few puzzles at a table when we got there.

Then, he played a computer game. Doesn't he look so big sitting at the little table?

Once he was bored with the game, he chose a few books to read and found a comfy spot to sit and read them.

This entire cycle of activities lasted about 4 minutes and then it started all over again. Back to the puzzle table he headed! Ha!

I am hoping we can attend Baby Bookworm (Baby reading time) at the library this summer. It's has always been on the same days as MDO but he will not have MDO this summer so we can hopefully go with some of his friends.

After we left the library, I headed to Walmart (Mall-Mart as Brody calls it) to get a few things to make a chocolate pie. I wanted to make dessert for Josh because he and Brody were hanging out at the house last night while I had some mommy time and got a mani/pedi.

I found this recipe online and it was ridiculously easy. I have seen this recipe several times before but never made it. Most of y'all have probably seen it to, but just in case you haven't, I thought I would share it. :)

I felt bad for "cheating" on a pie because my mom makes every single part of a pie from scratch. She probably doesn't even know they have pre-made pie crusts at the store because she has never bought it. :)

Easy Chocolate Triple Layer Pie

Source

Ingredients
2 cups cold milk
2 (3.9 ounce) packages instant chocolate pudding mix
1 (9 inch) prepared graham cracker crust, chocolate
1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
1/2 cup chocolate shavings

Directions
1.In a large bowl, mix milk and pudding. Beat with wire whisk for 1 minute. Spoon 1 1/2 cups of pudding into graham cracker crust.
2.Gently fold in 1/2 of the whipped topping into remaining pudding. Spread this mixture over the pudding layer in crust. Top with remaining whipped topping. Garnish with chocolate shavings and cover and refrigerate for 4 hours.

Have a great Friday!

Our Wednesday in Pictures

I thought I would just share our day with you in pictures. We didn't do anything special or out-of-the-ordinary today but Brody and I had a great day together. We always do. I'm not sure how I couldn't with someone so cute, sweet and funny.

Brody woke-up around 8 but I could hear him playing and humming in his crib so I just left him until about 8:30 when he started actually asking to get-up. He ate breakfast and then told me he wanted to go "oww-side" to play. We went and played in the backyard in our pajamas before 9:00 this morning!Brody drove his car and then he wrote some notes on a few pieces of paper I had brought outside with me to make lists. :)
After we played outside, we came inside and played in his room.
Brody also read a few books to himself. :)
I got the vacuum cleaner out because I was about to vacuum the house while he played. It made him so excited that he ran over and kissed it. He seriously loves the thing and I really have no idea why. I do clean a lot but I have never made a big deal about liking the vacuum. I think he just likes the noise it makes.
Before we left his room, he told me he needed a "diapee" so he got one out of the dresser and laid on the floor for me to change him. I think we may start potty training in the next few weeks since he tells us every single time he has a dirty diaper. He will tell us if it was "pee pee" or "poo poo" so I think he could learn to use the potty right now. A lot of moms are encouraging me to start trying since he is telling us when he is going to the bathroom.
Once we finished playing, we went to Josh and my bedroom and made the bed. Brody helps me make the bed every single day. He loves to bring me the pillows to put on the bed. He is such a great helper!
I also vacuumed our bedroom while we were in there. Brody loves to lay on the floor while I vacuum. I have no idea if he likes to be close to the vacuum or if he likes the way it sounds. Either way, this is what he does while I vacuum. :)
After we finished, it was time for Brody's morning nap. He still takes a morning nap and an afternoon nap. I love that he is such a good sleeper. I know we will try the same scheduling techniques with Jillian that we did with Brody. It doesn't mean that they will work with her, but we sure will try! Ha!
He woke-up from his nap right in time for lunch. He ate a sandwich, string cheese, apple slices and strawberries for lunch. He told me it was "nummy" which means it was yummy!
After lunch, I changed his clothes and we headed to Walmart. He read a book in the car while I drove. He loves to read.We picked-up these things at Walmart to make some snacks for our small group that met that night.
While I worked on dipping the strawberries and pretzels, Brody had a couple of pretzels for an afternoon snack. Then, he went back down for his afternoon nap while I finished-up making all these. They were really good and really easy! I forgot that I had some sprinkles in my pantry. I should have put those on the chocolate covered pretzels.
While Brody slept, I made dinner and then got his things ready for him to go over to my parents' house for a couple of hours while we had small group. He left around 5:30 and headed to eat with my mom and dad. Josh and I quickly ate and then cleaned-up before our friends headed over. Josh is always so great to help with dishes. I am so dumb and registered for cookware that you can't put in the dishwasher so it's a daily thing to have to hand wash dishes. Josh helps me out so much, especially on Wednesday nights because I am usually rushing around like a crazy woman to get things ready. Let's face it. I'm always running late and while I may look like I have it together, I don't and I'm the first to admit it. :)Now we are just relaxing and waiting on all the rain and stormy weather that is supposed to be heading our way.

I hope you all had a wonderful Wednesday!
Did y'all do anything fun today?

21 Weeks

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 21 Weeks
Size of baby: 10.5 inches long and weighs 12 ounces. She is the length of a carrot!
Total Weight Gain/Loss: Gained 10lbs
Maternity Clothes: I can still wear my normal jeans and clothes as of right now!
Gender: Girl!
Movement: Yes! I am really starting to feel her move a lot and I also feel her when she balls-up in my belly. My belly looks lopsided when that happens. :) Josh can feel her move now, too!
What I miss: I really can't say I miss a thing.
Sleep: Good other than the dreams that wake me up nightly.
Symptoms: Wild dreams! I seriously have a crazy dream EVERY SINGLE NIGHT.
Best Moment this week: Not getting sick all week! Maybe I am done with morning sickness. I was 22 weeks when I finally stopped getting sick with Brody so I'm thinking I am close to being finished.
What I am looking forward to: Just being pregnant!

Brody was crying because he didn't get in the weekly picture so we had to take another picture with him in it! Ha!
I thought I would show you a few of the gifts we have been given for Jillian in the last couple of weeks since finding out she was a girl! Our friends are seriously so sweet and so excited about us having a girl! We so thankful for them!

Sarah brought this over the day after our gender reveal party. Aren't the bibs so cute?
She also brought us this cute ultrasound picture frame. I love it!
My mom got Jillian these sweet pajamas and little outfit. I think this is so cute and will probably be so true! :)Josh's mom got this cute outfit and frame. I haven't put a picture in the frame yet because the u/s picture has to be cut to fit it and I don't really want to cut any of her 20 week pics so I think I may wait until my 24 week ultrasound and use one of those pictures. Heather gave me these glass bottles with pink covers as well as some plastic bottles. I cannot wait to try them out! I picked these up one night at Target while I was shopping. I love this little onesie!I got these headbands this weekend while we were in Little Rock. I know we will have tons of bows and flowers to clip onto these!

I love having these sweet, girly things starting to fill her closet! I cannot believe we are having a girl!!!

Our Weekend

We started our weekend by making a quick trip to Benton to see Josh's parents. It was only 24 hours from the time we left our house Friday to the time we got back home on Saturday evening. We spent most of the day Saturday shopping with Josh's mom. Josh's dad didn't go with us on Saturday and we were sad that we didn't get to spend much time with him this weekend, but we still had a lot of fun. The 4 of us shopping. Brody looks like he was having the time of his life! Ha!

We went to a few stores in Little Rock that I had been wanting to visit. I was on the look-out for some cute Jon-Jon's for Brody to wear to the beach when we go in a few weeks. We found this cute one that is perfect for our vacation. It is reversible so it is 2 cute Jon Jon's in one!
We also found this cute little gingham one that I am going to have embroidered in white with either his monogram or his name.
Which one do you think I should I do?? We got back on Saturday evening from Benton and quickly changed clothes so that we could go over to the Leslie and Blake's house for a cookout. They are friends of ours from college and moved up here after school as well. They just bought a new house and Blake was accepted into the doctoral program at the U of A, so they had a little party to celebrate both big occasions! Brody was sick so he stayed at our house with my mom. It was kind of fun for the two of us to get to go by ourselves, although we all missed him because he is so funny and entertaining!
Leslie and Me- We are pledge sisters and I love that she and Blake live up here.
(Yes, I am wearing my glasses. I have an eye infection and have had to wear them since Friday. I go back to the eye doctor today and I am hoping she will let me wear my contacts again this week. )
Josh and Me, Andrew and Meredith, Blake and Leslie, Dillon and Brittany
The OBU couples at the cookout. All 8 of us graduated from there! :) We had THE BEST time hanging out and visiting with these sweet friends last night!

Hope you all had a great weekend!

Brody's Animal Sounds

Brody and I were playing with the web cam on our desktop last night and I finally got him to make his animal sounds on video! He has motions that go with the lion and monkey but he was too busy watching himself to really get into acting-out the motions or yelling the noises. :) I just love hearing his sweet little voice make these sounds.

Wednesday

Last night, Brody got his haircut. I think it was his 8th or 9th haircut. Julee had a little bag of M&M's for him to keep him entertained. He did really well so we all had a pleasant experience!Brody would not stop staring at the lady next to him. She was getting her hair colored and he did not know what to think about it. :) Brody and I both wear capes during his hair appointments now. He looked so big with his on last night. Josh was paying for his and Brody's haircuts and Brody walked behind the counter and said, "Hey JuJu?!" in the sweetest little voice. He just loves her. He actually ended up playing at her house last night after the appointment while Josh and I ran a few errands and ate dinner. He had THE BEST time. Julee said at one point last night he called her, "Momma JuJu!" That made me laugh so hard because we have never called her that but he probably feels like she's just like his momma some days! Julee posted pictures on her blog of him and Romeo (Nomeo, as Brody calls him) playing together. Thanks for loving on our boy, Julee!

Today, we had our last MOPS meeting before the summer break. I have enjoyed MOPS so much this year. We have a great group of moms who attend and our church goes above and beyond to make it a fun time for us moms. Today, we had a Fiesta to celebrate the end of the year. They had On the Border cater lunch for us. The food was soooo good!! It was nice to be able to eat and visit while our children were being fed and loved on in the nursery. Here is our table at lunch! We also made this fun little craft while we were there. It's a wooden letter covered in scrapbook paper. It was super easy and each one turned out differently so it was fun to see what everyone else had made. When I was loading these pictures from today to my computer, I found this picture of Brody and me the morning of our first MOPS meeting in September. He was 11 months old. I cannot believe how much he has grown.

I hope you all have a great Wednesday!
