Wake-Up Call

Brody is generally very happy when he wakes-up in the mornings and usually just talks and talks until I go get him out of his crib. I am thankful he talks and laughs since some mornings he is my alarm. I remember the days when he was much younger and would scream and cry as a wake-up call. It's much more pleasant to wake-up to his sweet voice talking! Some mornings he even says funny things like this....
This means he wants his diaper changed! If he wakes-up yelling Shoo-wee then I know he either has a dirty diaper or he has a really wet diaper and wants a clean one immediately. :) This particular morning it was just wet. I can't help but laugh at this. Such a smart boy to let me know what he needs so early in the morning!

Snail Mail

I always love getting a surprise in the mail! Who doesn't? Invitations, notes, or even magazines are so much more fun than bills. :)

Last week, I received this little surprise in the mail from Sarah, the sweet lady who designed and printed our wedding stationary! Her and her husband own the printing company and take care of every detail from designing to printing. They are fantastic!
She had sent the Arkansas 2010 Bridal Planner that they give out at Bridal Fairs across the state and she attached a little note telling us to look at page 12.
Page 12 featured six wedding invitations from vendors across the state and our invitation and response card was one of the featured ones. How fun! (It's right under Inviting Ideas.)

Here is a close-up of our wedding invitation from the Hobart's website.

We also had coordinating programs, rehearsal dinner invitations, thank you notes and response cards. I loved the brown and burnt orange color scheme we used for the fall. We also used lime green in the wedding, just not on the stationary. I thought it was so sweet of Sarah to send us the planner. I loved looking seeing our invitation and thinking about our perfect day!

Boy Nursery

Here is our idea for the boy nursery...

The crib, changing table/dresser and glider will be the same either way. We might consider chocolate walls for the boy nursery instead of turquoise. I'm just so torn! I love the way white furniture looks against brown walls. :) Our bedroom is a really pretty chocolate brown so if we painted the room chocolate then we would probably just use the same color. I am rather attached to that color as it was also the color of my bedroom at my parent's house! Ha!

I really like these fabrics! My cute husband actually picked them out. I showed him several "boy' fabrics I liked and the stripes were his favorite! We would probably use one fabric for the skirt and one for the bumpers. We may use the turquoise as an accent fabric depending on what color we paint the walls. It might be too much turquoise so we may do chocolate.

I really like the idea of a vinyl wall decal/sticker tree by the crib. It doesn't have to have birds on it but it could. I just think it's really modern looking and would be cute in a nursery. I also like this tree canvas. I want something similar with this verse on it to hang over the changing table.

Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers. Psalms 1:1-3

I think this would be such a great verse to pray over our son! It also ties in with the tree theme so I think it would be perfect for this room.

I love this little pillow for the glider but I would want it in the fabric/color scheme of the room. I think it's really modern and simple and not too girly. Very cute for a boy! His would have a "B" or a "T" not an "H". I have you thinking names now! :)

I have left off lots of little details but you get the main idea! Now I'm just curious as to which nursery we will be using!! Not too much longer until we find out!

14 Weeks

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 14 Weeks
Size of baby: 3 1/4-4 inches long and weighs 1 ounce. He or she is the size of a lemon!
Total Weight Gain/Loss: 6lbs
Maternity Clothes: Not Yet
Gender: ??? Don't forget to vote on the poll on the side!
Movement: Yes! Little flutters! I can't wait for big movement!
Food Cravings: Sour and tart things...candy, drinks, fruit. Just anything sour! It's weird because I don't usually like sour things. Maybe it has to do with the baby being the size of a lemon this week! Haha!
What I miss: Diet Coke and sleep!
Sleep: I can go to sleep a lot easier now but these crazy dreams I have wake me up ALL NIGHT LONG! Seriously, they are wild!
Symptoms: This week has been SOOOO much better and I am so thankful for that! Instead of getting sick 3-5 times a day, I have only been sick once a day and not even every day! I am feeling so much better. It's great!! I'm still taking my prescription medicine for precaution but I don't think I'm going to need it much longer! Wooo Hooo!
Best Moment this week: Feeling better and having more energy!
What I am looking forward to: My 15 week appointment on Monday!

A pic with my precious big boy...I couldn't love him more!

I forgot to post our idea for the boy nursery so I will post that tomorrow! Also, a few of you have asked if we have names. When we were pregnant with Brody we had first and middle names picked out by week 9! This time we just have a list for both but haven't settled on any names for sure. Maybe after we know what we are having we will try to narrow down a name!

I have lots of catching-up to do on here as well so I will probably blog some pictures from last week when I get time. I was just a slacker the last week! Ha!

Have a great evening!

Favorite iPhone Apps

On Friday, I got a little surprise....
An iPhone!

I had a Blackberry that I dearly loved but it was starting to show signs of dying. I had to charge the battery at least 3 times a day and after being thrown across the house once or twice by Brody, it was on the brink of death.

Josh decided it was time for me to get a new phone. I had gotten him an iPhone for Father's Day last year and he loved his. He knew I would love one, too! And he was right. :)

I have a few apps I really like. One is the AT&T U-verse DVR app. I can set and manage the DVR from my phone. It's really neat and convenient. If we are away from the house and forget to set the DVR, we can just set it from our phone. I also love the Redbox app. We rent from Redbox a lot! You can reserve the movie at the local Redbox you use, then go pick it up later. We did this over the weekend when it snowed. It's great because you know that they are going to have the movie you are wanting!I have several others I like, but I haven't spent much time finding new or fun apps.

I'm curious...what are your favorite apps?

13 Weeks

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 13 Weeks
Size of baby:3 inches long and weighs 1 ounce. He or she is the size of a peach!
Total Weight Gain/Loss: 6lbs
Maternity Clothes: Not Yet
Gender: We don't know but now I REALLY think girl again! I had a dream this weekend that I had an ultrasound and the baby was a girl. I had the exact same dream with Brody except the baby was a boy and I was obviously right.
Movement: Yes! Little flutters late at night when I lay on my stomach. So sweet and so fun!
Food Cravings: Caffeine Free Coke. I haven't liked it since junior high but for some reason I have been drinking it lately. I also have been craving fruit...oranges, grapes, and apples. More foods sound yucky to me than sound good!
What I miss: Diet Coke. I have only had 3 in the past 9 weeks. I used to drink one a day so I am having serious withdrawals. It didn't help that I had to stop cold turkey. They need to make a patch for people who are trying to give DC up. It's a hard addiction. :)
Sleep: I have insomnia. No joke. I lay and bed for hours and can't sleep no matter how tired I am.
Symptoms: Still the same! Hopefully these will be a distant memory before too much longer! Nausea, vomiting, exhaustion/fatigue, food aversions, frequent trips to the bathroom, heartburn. :)
Best Moment this week: Starting the 2nd trimester!
What I am looking forward to: Hopefully having more energy in the next few weeks. I loved the 2nd trimester with Brody. I still was sick daily but I had so much energy and felt so good!

I added a little gender poll on the right side of the blog above my profile. I am just curious to see what you all think we are having so make sure and vote if you would like!

Have a great night!

More Snow Pics and Birthday Dinner

After lunch yesterday, we ventured out for a little while in the snow. The roads were good by 1:00. They were just a little slushy on the sides and in the middle where snow had piled up. We enjoyed driving around town and seeing all the pretty snow on U of A campus. I know those students are glad they are on Spring Break and not stuck here in the cold! While we were out we made a stop at Sonic during Happy Hour. It was just fun to get out for a little while. Look how high the snow is against the door of this building. We seriously have not ever seen this much snow. We live in Arkansas, not Alaska!Slushy roads on campus! The football stadium.
Yesterday evening, we went to my parents' house for Josh's birthday dinner. My mom and dad always have dinner and a Rick's cake for each of our birthdays. We had planned this before we even knew about the snow. The roads were just wet by the time we headed out there so it was really easy to get to their house. Josh wanted pizza and salad from one of our favorite pizza places in town so that is what we had. It was soooo good and the perfect meal for a cold, snowy evening!
Isn't this cake adorable? Josh is really into running right now so my mom thought it would be cute to get running shoes on his cake. I loved the idea and it turned out soooo cute! Josh was so excited when he saw it! And yes, it tasted just as good as it looked! My cute, 27 year old husband!

Jill loves getting an action shot of people blowing out candles. She actually missed the real blow-out so this was a reenactment. :)
After we got home last night, Brody and I were playing and he would run to me and give me a big kiss, then run away! It was so sweet and cute! Every time he ran towards me he would run with his mouth open. It was hilarious!

We are on Spring Break this week so I am looking forward to having a week off from a few activities and trying to do a few fun things. We are having some friends come up at the end of the week to stay with us so I am excited to see them! Hopefully, we will have warm days ahead!

Hope you have a great day! I will post my 13 week pic this evening!

Spring in NW Arkansas!

Yesterday was the first day of Spring and it was also Josh's birthday. It will be a birthday he never forgets! This is the first time it has snowed on his birthday and it snowed about a foot of snow!

Friday was so nice! It was 70 degrees. I wore a t-shirt with my jeans and flips flops, then Saturday afternoon it started to flurry. Then it started to snow really hard and when we woke-up this morning we found almost a foot of snow. It's the biggest snow I have seen in the almost 3 years I have lived here and it's MARCH! Here are just a few pictures from this morning. It is supposed to continue snowing the rest of the day and into the evening so we will probably have a few more inches.

Welcome to Spring time in Arkansas! :)

This is what I saw when I opened our garage door to go outside. The snow was just piled up on the driveway!

You cannot even see the sidewalk when you walk. The snow is so deep!

The roads have a good amount of snow on them, too. Josh got out early to get bread since we didn't go to Walmart yesterday with everyone else in town. We just never believed it would snow this much. He said the roads were pretty nasty!

The snow drifts piled-up against our windows and our fence!I always measure the snow on our patio table anytime it snows. It was 10 inches this morning but it is still snowing! The snow is up really high along the fence. Our fence is 6 foot tall but it looks a lot shorter in spots because of the snow drifts!

I will try to get some more pictures today. I had no idea this was going to happen. They said maybe 2-5 inches...not 10 plus so we are all amazed by the amount of snow!

Hope you are having a great Sunday and I hope it's warm and Spring-like where you live!

Josh's Birthday-Part 1

Josh will be 27 on Saturday but we have already started celebrating at our house! I love birthdays. I don't really like making a big deal about my birthday but I love making a big deal about Josh and Brody's birthdays! (Obviously, since I am the mom who got a cake for every month birthday. Ha! And yes, we will do that with this baby, too!)

We celebrated Josh's birthday with his parents last night. They came up and I cooked dinner: white cheese chicken lasagna, salad and garlic bread. It was really good, even if I was the one who made it! For dessert, we had a cake from Rick's and ice cream.
We gave Brody a very small piece of cake but he was able to make a very large mess with it. It was so fun to watch him having so much fun!

I wanted to share the White Cheese Chicken Lasagna recipe with y'all. I was a little concerned about making this last night. I told Josh I would cook anything he wanted thinking he would chose something I make on a regular basis. Instead, he found this new recipe on an app on his phone and asked me to make it. It got great reviews online and it also got great reviews at our house. It's a little time consuming but not difficult. It is soooooo good!

Ingredients
9 lasagna noodles
1/2 cup butter
1 onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups chicken broth
1 1/2 cups milk
4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese, divided
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 cups ricotta cheese
2 cups cubed, cooked chicken meat
1 (10 ounce) packages frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese for topping

Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook lasagna noodles in boiling water for 8 to 10 minutes. Drain, and rinse with cold water.

Melt the butter in a large saucepan over medium heat. Cook the onion and garlic in the butter until tender, stirring frequently. Stir in the flour and salt, and simmer until bubbly. Mix in the broth and milk, and boil, stirring constantly, for 1 minute. Stir in 2 cups mozzarella cheese and 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese. Season with the basil, oregano, and ground black pepper. Remove from heat, and set aside.

Spread 1/3 of the sauce mixture in the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish. Layer with 1/3 of the noodles, the ricotta, and the chicken. Arrange 1/3 of the noodles over the chicken, and layer with 1/3 of the sauce mixture, spinach, and the remaining 2 cups mozzarella cheese and 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese. Arrange remaining noodles over cheese, and spread remaining sauce evenly over noodles. Sprinkle with parsley and 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese.

Bake 35 to 40 minutes in the preheated oven.

Hope you all have a great weekend!!!

Brody Boy

Here are just some fun pictures of Brody that I have taken over the last couple of weeks!

This is one of my favorite pictures! Doesn't he look like he is posing?! Ha! One morning last week I was changing a dirty diaper and the smell mixed with morning sickness made me sick. :) I couldn't even get Brody's pajamas zipped before I had to run to the bathroom. I just got him off of the changing table and ran. Well, he followed me. When I was finished this is how he was standing in the bathroom. Hilarious!

This is before MOPS last week. I tried and tried to get him to smile and look at the camera but this was the best we could get! :)

Sometimes he looks at me like this when I take his picture and I think that he is trying to tell me to back-off. I am sure he gets tired of daily pictures. :)

We were at Sam's a week or so ago and he kept playing on the drink aisle. At one point he had was sitting on top of the stack of Diet Coke. He knows where the good stuff is! :) Sam's is total entertainment for him on Saturdays.

Playing in his crib!

Sometimes he likes to help rearrange the house. This particular day he was moving this big vase thing around. Such a stud!

Hope you all have a great Wednesday!

Baby Girl

I wanted to share our idea (as of right now) for our girl nursery! I love it!

We really want to use white furniture this time. The crib and changer/dresser are really modern and I like that. We did a bit more traditional with Brody's furniture and I like it just as well, but I just want something different this time. The turquoise behind the changing/dresser combo is what color we are thinking about painting the room either way...boy or girl. I have had a few people ask why we are not using Brody's furniture this time. The reason is that Brody's crib transitions into a toddler bed so he will continue to use his bed and dresser for the next few years. He will not be 2 until after the baby is born so he will still be using his crib for a few months after he/she is born, then we will transition his bed to a toddler bed. I'm in no hurry for him to be able to get out of his own bed! Ha!

The flower print fabric and the solid pink would be for the bumpers. I would probably do minky dots in the solid pink. I'm not for sure what I will do for a bed skirt. I really don't like the idea of a bed skirt with a modern crib but this one pretty much requires that I use one.

Our Best glider is the same color as the green one shown, although not the exact same style. I LOVE it and am so glad we went ahead and invested in a good one. I will be able to just move it to the new nursery and use it with this baby. It is almost like new. I thought the little pillow with her initial would be cute to add to the chair.

I love the pink chandelier and thought it would be cute to have little lamp shades covered in the flower print fabric to attach to the chandelier. I'm think I might like pink, but I also think white would look great since the furniture and trim are white. It might pop a little more than the pink one would.

I love the idea of using birds in the nursery. I think they look so cute and modern. It might even be cute to have the birds done in the fabrics we use for the room. I have even seen a few cute but modern little bird houses in the same colors that could be placed on shelves, etc, to add to the theme. I just love the little birds!

Finally, a few of my church friends have made rugs for their nurseries similar to the pink one shown and saved a ton of money. They have told me they can teach me but from what I hear I need to get started on it by week 20 or it will never get done so as soon as we know boy or girl, I will get going on that! :)

So what do you think? I realize this modern type nursery isn't for everyone but we really think it's cute! I will show you are ideas for baby boy later this week!

12 Weeks

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along:
12 Weeks
Size of baby: 2 1/2 inches long and weighs 1/3 to 1/2 of an ounce!! He or she is the of a lemon!
Total Weight Gain/Loss: 6lbs since my 5 week appointment!! I probably need to slow down! In my defense, I lost more after I had Brody than I gained (thank you breastfeeding) so I feel like I'm just catching-up to my starting weight with my first pregnancy! Haha!
Maternity Clothes: Not Yet
Gender: We don't know yet, but this week I feel like we are having a boy. It's the first time I have had a boy thought this pregnancy!
Movement: I seriously think I felt movement Thursday night!! I was lying on my stomach in bed and felt it two different times. It's so hard to recognize this early on but it felt like the flutters I first felt with Brody. I text messaged a few of my friends who have had 2 babies and they all felt flutters much earlier the 2nd time so I am interested to see if I continue to feel the same feelings this week. I am almost 100% sure that it was little baby moving around! I can't wait to start feeling movement daily!
Food Cravings: Popsicles, Subway, and Cocoa Pebbles. I am on my 2nd box of cereal in less than a week!
What I miss: Having energy to do something besides lay on the couch.
Sleep: Still not sleeping well. Now I am having a hard time falling asleep. I have stayed up until 2 or 3 several nights this week. Hopefully, I will start sleeping again soon and if not, then my body will just be ready for no sleep by the time the baby is born! Ha!
Symptoms: Same as last week....Nausea, vomiting, exhaustion/fatigue, food aversions, frequent trips to the bathroom, heartburn. :)
Best Moment this week: Hearing our baby's heartbeat at our appointment Thursday! Such a sweet sound!
What I am looking forward to: Just enjoying being pregnant! I LOVE LOVE LOVE being pregnant! :)

I spent a lot of time this weekend looking at baby furniture, paint colors and fabric online. Josh and I have come to agreements on most of the big decisions! Of course they could change, but I still thought I would share them with y'all this week to see what you think. I love bouncing ideas off of other people and hearing what others think about things. Usually, I get even better ideas from it. I will post them this week! I love both "rooms" so much that I would love a boy and a girl, but we are only having one! Ha!

Have a great Monday night!

Because Sunday is always followed by Monday...

****Good news...Brody's problem is fixed and he is happy as he can be!****
It's Monday and IT. IS. MONDAY. if you know what I mean.

I'm not one of those people who despises Mondays. Usually, it's a great day for me. Brody plays at MDO and I run errands, buy groceries and get organized for the week. I pick him up in the afternoon. We play and nap. Josh comes home from work and I go to meet some girls for Bible study/dinner/girl time. I spend 3 hours with them then I come home and go to bed. What isn't to love about a day like that?

Today, is not that kind of Monday. Brody is not at MDO because he is instead, constipated. He hasn't pooped since Saturday and he usually goes 3 times a day. He is fussy and at times looks as though his face my explode from trying to relieve himself. We don't give Brody juice, but you better believe I am going to force some apple juice into his little belly today. Maybe even a gallon or two. I hope he has a total blow out today and then all is well with the world.

On top of constipation issues, I had a little sleep problem last night. I have crazy dreams and crazy sickness during pregnancy. The combination of the two can be lethal, as it was last night. I dreamed my parents got divorced and my dad married Vivica Fox. I called him a jerk-crapper for marrying her. I never use the word jerk-crapper. In my dream, she was only 30 and I was mad that my step mom was 5 years older than me. I then dreamed my mom also got remarried and she made me go shopping at Sam's with her new husband and her. I was in such a hurry to leave that I forgot Brody and left him in his crib alone for 3 hours. When I got home, he had broken and eaten his crib. This is the 3rd time I have dreamed that he got left alone. I can't imagine. I also experienced a first last night, which was morning sickness in the middle of the night. I love being pregnant and am so thankful or this baby even if I am sick as a dog, but it kept both Josh and I up for a good portion of the night and therefore I may have gotten 2-3 hours of sleep. On top of the time change, it made for a pleasant morning of me lying in bed in the dark at 6 asking Josh to take a sick day in honor of Brody and I having "sicknesses" and staying home to take care of us. I was kidding. Kind of. I bet you can guess what he did. He did what an normal man would do....he hit the road at 7:30. God is going to reward him greatly in heaven for being my husband. I just know it. :)

I hope you know that I am just making a joke of our day and while all this did happen, it does not qualify as a bad day by any means. If this is the worst Monday I have had in a while, then I would say I have it very easy! :) I just think that most moms can relate to having a case of the Mondays every once in a while! I'm about to clean my house, go for a walk, cook dinner and hopefully go to bed early! Like 6:00 or something!

I am just thankful for another wonderful Monday...even if it followed time change Sunday! :)

My 12 week post will be up later today! Woo hoo for 12 weeks!!!

Friday Night

Brody, Josh and I had a fun family night on Friday. We went to eat pizza and then stopped by a local Christian bookstore, Petsmart, and Target. Here are a few pictures from our fun night! I just love spending time with these two!Brody loved dipping his bites of pizza into marinara sauce and ranch dressing. He is so my child with the ranch. Love that stuff!
He tends to stuff his mouth like a chipmunk. We are really working on taking a bite, chewing, and swallowing before we take another bite. You can see we have had little success.

Our yummy Chicago style pizza!

Brody gave the waitress his number on the receipt before we left. :) He loves those college girls!

Brody loves dogs so we decided to go by Petsmart and see if there were any dogs there. We were so happy because there was a dog training class going on so there were many dogs in the store. We also saw a lady with a friendly little Dorkie (Dauschaund and Yorkie mix). The dog was sooo sweet and loved little children so he played very well with Brody. In this picture above, we were watching a poodle being groomed. Brody had a great time while we were there and we will definitely be going back soon. Before we left, we stopped to look at this bird. Brody loved it and we thought it was very pretty. He kept calling it "dog" though so we need to work on our animal names some before we go back to visit!

Hope y'all are having a great weekend!

Friday

I am so glad it's Friday! We have had a busy week, which seems to be the norm these days. We literally have some activity every day of the week except Fridays so I always look forward to spending some time at home of Fridays relaxing and catching-up on things. Right now, I'm doing laundry and I need to mop the kitchen floor but other than that we are having a laid back day.
We don't have any plans this weekend other than spending the weekend as a family. We have had lots of weekend visitors over the past month so we haven't had much time just the 3 of us. I'm definitely looking forward to enjoying time with the boys and maybe even taking a few naps since Josh will be home to help.

I think I might go shopping for an Easter dress this weekend, too. We already have Brody's cute outfit.

I really want us all to match this year which I know makes some people want to throw-up but I think it's cute! Josh has a purple shirt and tie to wear with his suit so now I'm on the hunt for a cute purple or green dress to match.

I tried on a super cute purple dress at this little dress boutique yesterday. I loved it so much and the best part was that it had elastic in the waist so I can wear it all summer with my growing belly. It's a dress that would be cute with boots in the fall or cute with sandals in the summer. The only reason I didn't buy it was because I was alone and I always get a second opinion on an Easter dress before I buy one. I hate spending money on something only I think is cute! Ha!

I hope y'all have a great afternoon. Tell me what you are doing this weekend!

Appointment, Brody, and Easter Candy

Thank you for all your sweet comments, tweets, text messages and phone calls letting us know you were praying for us today. My appointment went great this morning! We were able to hear the baby's heartbeat. It was in the 130s until he/she started flipping around and then it got up in the 150s. You could hear big thumps on the doppler while he/she was moving and flipping. It was such a sweet and reassuring sound to hear. We are so thankful for such a great appointment and finally feel like we can breathe a big sigh of relief! I can also get back to normal activities now so I am looking forward to running this weekend...if my body still remembers how to run. I can also lift heavier things again, which means no excuses not to carry laundry and groceries now. Ha! :)

This afternoon, Brody and I spent a lot of time in his room playing. He was so entertaining! I just love his sweet personality. He is such a joy!I have been trying to let Brody fed himself with a spoon lately. Sometimes the clean freak in me doesn't want to mess with the clean-up so I just feed him myself, but I know that isn't helping him at all. Tonight, I just took a deep breath, handed him the spoon, and stepped away. It was hilarious! He loved every second of it, but he still needs some work. His hair was covered as were his clothes. I had a bib on him but he likes to take them off. This boy got a bath once he was finished feeding himself. ;) I am about to get on the couch and relax. I haven't taken a break for even a second today. It's been one of those busy days, so I am looking forward to watching some TV and eating some of these.....Does anyone else love Easter candy like I do? I love the Reese's eggs, but my favorite is the Cadbury mini eggs. My college roommate got me addicted to those at Easter our Senior year and now I buy way too many bags each year!

What is your favorite Easter candy??

Backpack and Appointment

I had this little backpack embroidered for Brody last week and it was ready to pic-up a couple of days ago. I thought it turned out cute, especially since I only spent $15 total on it-buying it and embroidery. I thought it would be good to take to the nursery. We are at church almost everyday of the week except Friday and Saturday. On Tuesdays and Wednesday he isn't there for more than a couple of hours so he doesn't need his huge bag that we take to MDO and on Sundays. We used this bag yesterday and it worked great!
We have our 11 week appointment this morning. If you think about it, please say a prayer that everything goes well. I have complete peace that everything is going to be just fine. It's the appointment we have been looking forward to since our little complication in January. It will just ease our minds to know for sure that everything is just as it needs to be today. Thanks in advance for your prayers!

11 Weeks

I was 11 weeks yesterday, but I didn't get around to taking a picture until today!

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 11 weeks 1 day
Size of baby: 1 1/2 inches long and weighs about .3 ounces. He or she is the size of a fig!
Total Weight Gain/Loss: I seriously think I have gained 4lbs already. I go to the doctor on Thursday so I will find out then. I only gained 25lbs with Brody and he weighed almost 8.5lbs so I'm a little nervous about gaining so early. No big deal, right? I am eating a lot these days! :)
Maternity Clothes: Not Yet
Gender: Any guesses? I've had a girl feeling early on!
Movement: Not yet, but I can't wait for it!
Food Cravings: I don't have real specific cravings. Something will sound good and that's usually what I eat that particular meal. Once I eat it, it doesn't sound good the next day. I have been eating a lot of cereal and a lot of sandwiches. I also have eaten a lot of pistachios...I love that they are salty! I love chocolate milk. I am buying it by the gallon. I also love red Gatorade.
What I miss: I miss having lots of energy to play with Brody. I'm really tired right now.
Sleep: Not so good...I can't get comfortable to fall asleep and when I finally fall asleep, I have crazy dreams!
Symptoms: Nausea, vomiting, exhaustion/fatigue, food aversions, frequent trips to the bathroom, heartburn...Typical early pregnancy! :)
Best Moment this week: Going an entire day this past week without getting sick. It was a big accomplishment! It didn't last long, but I enjoyed it while it did.
What I am looking forward to: My 11 week appointment on Thursday and hopefully hearing a strong, healthy heartbeat!

It always take a little while for it to set in that we are actually pregnant! It's just so surreal at first! Obviously I have known for 7 weeks, but suddenly the reality of it has hit me and I am SOOOOOO excited! I would probably just tell random strangers that I'm pregnant except that it might be weird. I can't wait to start showing and to start feeling him or her moving. That's when it really feels so real to me. I'm so excited about having another precious child to love, just like we love Brody. We are so thankful for this sweet baby.

Funny story...When Josh was taking my picture tonight, he counted "1,2,3" and took the picture. Brody was standing by Josh watching him. When I stepped away from the door, Brody walked up to it, stood in front of it and said "1,2,3!" Sweet boy wanted his picture taken, too. I love it! Here is his weekly pic! Ha!

Great Date 2 and Our Weekend

We had a great weekend! On Friday night, Josh and I participated in Date 2 of The Great Date Experiment. We had a great time! We both enjoyed this one more than the first one. This one was a lot less busy and mainly involved eating and talking, which is what we like to do on dates. The main part of this date was going on a progressive dinner. We had appetizers at a Japanese restaurant, then we went to the mall and ate Sbarro pizza for dinner ( I might have had something to do with that! It just sounded really good!). For dessert, we got a milk shake to split.During one part of the date, we were told to split up and go buy our spouse a $2 gift and then meet back-up to exchange gifts. Since we were already at the mall, we decided to get our gifts there. We changed the price limit to under $5 because it's hard to only spend $2 at the mall. Here are our gifts.....I loved my cute earrings!Saturday, my grandma, aunt and uncle came up to visit from Benton. We grilled at my parents house. It was so good! I was the only person that ate more than one hamburger, which says a lot when there were 4 men there! Ha! It just tasted really good and I was really hungry. My mom got 2 pies from Rick's bakery and a box of cookies for dessert. They were yummy!Brody spent the evening running all over the house and wearing my dad out! I don't think my dad sat down for more than 3 minutes before Brody wanted him to carry him somewhere or go play something with him. I didn't get any pictures of the rest of my family..I must have been too busy eating. :)

Sunday, all went to church and then to eat before my grandma, aunt and uncle left to go back home. That afternoon, the 3 of us went on a walk. Brody actually went on a drive! :)Sunday evening, Jill and Brandon came over and we grilled steaks and watched the Oscars. I made red velvet cake with cream cheese icing for dessert. It was really good! I will probably have a few more slices today. ;)

I just realized this entire post was basically about eating. It's a big theme in my life right now and I plan to enjoy every second of it while I have the excuse to eat like this! :)

I hope y'all had a great weekend as well!
