The Past Few Days

First, THANK YOU SO MUCH for your sweet comments on our last post! We are thrilled that our sweet girl is finally here. We could not be more thankful for such an easy delivery and a healthy baby. I honestly do not think things could have gone any more perfectly than they did Wednesday night.
I still have a lot of catching-up to do on here over the next few days but I wanted to share a few pictures from the past few days. Hopefully, I will get Jillian's birth story and nursery pictures up soon! Until then, here is what we have been up to since Friday!
My doctor released me from the hospital after lunch on Friday. We had to hang around for a little while to get all our instructions and papers. We finally left the hospital a little after 5:30 on Friday night. I was so excited to get home and sleep in my own bed.
Brody and I ready to head home!

Heading to the car!

Brody stopped at the nurses station to give my doctor a hug and a kiss. Thankfully, she has a little boy who is 3 so she is used to slobbery boy kisses! :)
Brody, Jillian and I waited at the front for Josh to get the car.Heading home as a family of 4!!! It's still so hard to believe that we have two kids!
I love this picture of Brody. He is looking at her like, "are you going with us?"Backseat full of sweet babies!
Off we go!
Friday night went really well. We were up almost every hour. I remember going through this stage with Brody and thinking we would never sleep again. I was so stressed and tired. This time I know this stage is only temporary. She will sleep at some point which means I will sleep again, too. :) It's much more enjoyable the 2nd time around when you know how quickly each phase passes. I am just trying to soak-up all the time I get with her while she is so new and little and I am reminding myself how blessed I am to have a sweet new baby to keep me up all night.
We hung out at the house on Saturday. I am still very sore from my c-section so I laid on the couch most of the day. Josh parent's brought lunch over before they headed home and my parents brought dinner over that night and a birthday cake for Jillian. We had a birthday cake for Brody while we were in the hospital but Jillian's early arrival threw our plans for a loop. It was still fun to celebrate our sweet girl's "birth" day a few days later.
Aunt Jill and JillianHer cakeBrody looks so big to me now! He is ridiculously crazy about her! She has no choice but to be a daddy's girl!
This little boy is crazy about her, too! He has done so well adjusting to his new sister. He always asks about her when he wakes-up and always wants to kiss her. He loves to hold her and even likes to drive his cars and trucks on her back if we turn our heads for a second! Ha! This morning, we had Jillian's newborn check-up. We were all dressed and out the door in time to get Brody to MDO and then head to the doctor. Jillian's appointment was at 9:40 and we pulled into the parking lot at the clinic at 9:30. I thought this was pretty good for our first time out with two kids. I am never on time with one so being early with two was a miracle. I'm just praying it lasts. :) Jillian's appointment went well. She looks great and she is already on her way back to her birth weight. She weighed 8lbs 12oz today. We go back in one week for another weight checkHer face in this picture makes me laugh! I just love her much!!! Thank you again for all the love and support you have shown our family the past few days! Even though we only know most of you through blogging, we love being able to share our family with you all!

Congratulations!

I'm amazed at how great you look, and that you were standing in so many of the pictures, not to mention walking out of the hospital after a c-section. It took me so much longer to recuperate from mine. I was so weak!

Your family is beautiful!

I laugh because I often see pictures when your husband is wearing the same outfits that my husband wears....i think they have lots of similarities, funny how that happens!

it's good to know it's a bit easier the 2nd go round. I am a bit nervous about that! And I am jealous you were able to just walk out of your hospital. I had to be wheeled out and felt so dorky being strolled out of the hospital in a wheel chair-- and I didn't even have a c-section! LOL.

Congratulations Jennifer! I am so happy for you that your delivery went well. You look GREAT and make a c-section look like a piece of cake. :) Our baby #2 is still breech with a month to go so it is reassuring to see you looking so well after a c-secction. I would be lying if I said I am not nervous about it! :)

How sweet! I am a new reader. I can't they let you walk out of the hospital without a wheelchair? Is that common or is Utah just weird? I love that Jillian is so big, my little miracle girl fell down to 5 pounds. Enjoy every second!

I know this is a random comment, but I noticed that Brody was rear facing in his car seat. It made me smile to know that we are not the only ones who have not turned our kid. Brandon is 16 1/2 months old, and his car seat says not to turn him forward facing until he is 34", and at his 15 month appt he was 30 1/2". It encouraged me to keep him rear facing. Thanks. So excited for your family of four.
