Brody and I went to the library on Monday to check-out some books about being a Big Brother. We are really trying to talk a lot about Jillian to Brody. I know he cannot fully understand what is about to happen but he is very smart and he is really starting to piece together a lot of the things he does know about his sister.

He was very excited when we got to the library. We have gone several times and he loves the children's area. It's off to the side and not near any other sections so he can talk above a whisper and walk around as he pleases. He loves to walk through the books shelves and see all the books. You can hardly see him in this picture but he's in the middle! ;)

Here are the books we chose to bring home. Funny story...I just glanced through the books as we were pulling them off the shelves but didn't read through them. When we got home to read them I realized one book talked about mommy needing bo*b cream for nursing!! We decided to take that one out of the stack since it isn't really age appropriate for a 22 month old. I don't really want Brody walking around talking about it to people about me needing that. Ha! And trust me, he would! ;)

Brody worked a few puzzles after we found our books. These types of puzzles are his favorite kinds. We have some at home and he works them so quickly!

He played a computer game, too. I use the term played loosely. He really just liked putting the headphones on and typing on the keyboard. He thought he was so big!

Brody has really enjoyed reading these books. He and Josh spent some time reading them the other night. Brody likes to look through the pictures and talk about the babies in the books. I think he is going to love being a big brother. We keep telling Jillian she better get ready...her brother is a wild man! I am sure he is going to just love her to pieces!

I always wished I had an older brother. Brody will be a great one! That is kind of funny about the one book - who knew to watch out for that :)
That is TOO sweet. I am dying over that one book, though! TOO funny!
Mr. Rogers wrote one about becoming a big sister or brother that is AWESOME! I think you can find it on Amazon for super cheap. He's so good at writing to the children's point of view and everything. It's such a sweet book.
Love that he is being such a good brother!
You are a good mother!!!!!!!
I am cracking up about the "special cream" situation. They really are making children's books informative these days. :-)
Brody IS going to be such a good big brother. He will love Jillian to pieces and teach her all she needs to know about things like vaccuums...how to go and touch random people's tattoos...and MOST importantly how to be the sweetest cutest little person she can be! (Just like Bobby Francis himself!) :-) Love ya'll!
Ezra was 23 months when Poppy was born and that was last summer. They are the BEST of friends and just love each other to pieces. You will be overjoyed when you see them loving on each other and hear him talking to her. It is the most precious thing! Get ready for some of the best moments you have EVER HAD!!!
P.S. Thanks for the hair tips! :)
that is such a great idea to go to the library and rent books about being a big brother! love it!
this is really random, but i think that brody and parker kind of look alike. everytime i look at your posts i am like, "parker?" hahaha. they both have big daddy's and are growing up to be tall, crazy boys! :)
That's a great idea! Aaron will be the same age as Brody when his little brother or sister arrives. They will be exactly 23 months apart and I have been wondering how to prepare him. He is 17 months old now and I know he doesn't understand about the 'baby'...
Ok...so now I am thinking about running to the library Friday morning!
He is going to be a fabulous big brother!!!!! :)
I am laughing out loud thinking about Brody telling everyone about mommy's cream! Oh dear....I know we have lots of embarrassing moments in our future!
