Ultrasound and Gender Reveal Party

Yesterday was such a wonderful day! Josh and I met at my doctor's office at 9:15. My ultrasound was scheduled for 9:30. I am pretty sure they got me back there 5 minutes after I got there, which was great because I was so anxious and I was about to pee my pants from all the water I drank that morning since I was supposed to go with a full bladder! :)

As soon as she started the ultrasound we could tell her legs were crossed! The tech went ahead and checked all of her organs and measurements. She found and measured everything so quickly which was such a relief to me. I am always amazed at what a miracle a baby is and how even though she is only 6.5 inches long and 10 ounces, she is fully formed and just growing. It amazes me! After she had finished she started trying to get Jillian to uncross her legs. She would push several times in a row on my stomach with the little ultrasound thingy and we would watch Jillian bounce around. It took 3 different times before she finally moved and when she did, we saw that she was a girl!! I started clapping and crying. Josh just sat with his mouth open! It was priceless! As exciting as it was to find out we are having a girl, we were more excited just to know we have a healthy baby. What a blessing.

Last night, we had the gender reveal party. I didn't tell one person the gender of the baby before the party! I did have to call Josh 30 times throughout the day to squeal and talk about our girl so I didn't spill to anyone. :)

Here are some pictures from the party! My mom and I decorated for it on Sunday night so I wouldn't have to worry about it yesterday after my appointment. Our family..so anxious for everyone to get to our house!Brody was thrilled when we told him he was going to have a little sister! He called my belly "sissy" all night! I loved it!
The table decorated in all pink and blue! Mom and I had so much fun getting things ready!

I had bought everything before mom got over to my house. She had the idea of getting some pacifiers and hanging them from the light fixture. I loved the idea! I had that blue baby plate in Brody's closet and totally forgot I bought it to use when he was born! It's a pottery plate that people can sign. I think it's super cute!

Pink bubble gum. Josh and I unwrapped every single piece! Ha!

Tootsie rolls holding gerber daisies!

The cupcakes! Would y'all believe I used another bakery and not Rick's?! They needed a 24 hour notice and Shelby Lynn's (another local bakery) told us they needed a couple of hours. They filled them after my appointment and they were ready to pick up at 12:30!

Pink M&M's that my mom got for the table!

Ultrasound pics of our girl! The blue frame is from yesterday and the pink one was her 2nd ultrasound at 6 or 7 weeks!

I wrote our baby names on the sidewalk so that people would see them walking into our house! I love sidewalk chalk. Brody didn't mind sharing! :)

Big Brother and Gigi- Thanks for all your help, Mom!

Team Jillian!!

I love that Ryan and Sarah wore pink. They were 100% sure we were having a girl. They both had been texting us that day saying girl! They are having a baby boy a few weeks before us and so we can't wait to have new babies together!

Funny story...I took the first picture and then my dad decided he was Team Jillian. After the party he told me I made a face when I was taking the first picture and he said he can read me so well that he knew from my face I was having a girl! I didn't even know I made a face! Ha!

Team Beau!!

Passing out the cupcakes...My heart was racing at this point!

They had just taken a bite and saw pink icing in the middle!

I have a video of them all biting into the cupcakes but I can't get it to load but I promise to get it on here as soon as Josh can help me! It is so fun!

The yummy pink cupcakes!!

The entire day could not have been more perfect! We loved every second of it and enjoyed sharing the news with our family and friends. We cannot wait to meet Jillian!
Thank you so much for the wonderful comments, tweets, emails and text messages. We are SO thankful to have so many wonderful, caring friends and blog friends. Y'all made our day so special and we LOVED sharing our news with you all. I literally posted to my blog while everyone was still eating cupcakes because I was SOOO excited for y'all to know! I had it scheduled for later that night and I couldn't wait a second longer to share. :)

We are so excited about having a daughter. I spent the day by myself yesterday since Brody was at MDO and I just cried and cried tears of joy all day. I am just so truly thankful for our precious blessings. Praise the Lord for two perfectly, healthy children. We could not ask for more.

What a fun way to share the news! I'm sure you're having so much fun realizing that in a few short months you'll have a sweet girl in your home. My daughter is seven and everyday I feel so blessed that I get to experience the joys of raising a daughter. I also have nine and five year old sons, and there's nothing like mommy's and their boys either. You'll just LOVE getting to experiece both!

I LOVE the idea of a gender reveal party... it looks like so much fun! Our relatives are pretty spread out, but maybe we will do something at our church and have a 'virtual party' for our families. :)
