Pregnancy Brain

When I was pregnant with Brody I suffered from some serious pregnancy brain! I was such an organized person before I got pregnant with him and I always had it together but once I got pregnant I was seriously crazy! I would forget to pay bills. I would forget to be places. I would put things in the refrigerator that didn't belong there. I found my keys in the pantry. I would leave things places. I misplaced my cell phone and keys every single day. It was awful! I thought I would never be normal again. I got back to normal for the most part after I had him...As normal as I could be. I don't think you are ever 'normal' after you become a mom! It's just a whole other crazy! Ha!

I feel like I have been less forgetful this pregnancy . Maybe it's because I haven't been normal since Brody was born..who knows! :) The only thing I have done that is really forgetful is wash loads of laundry without putting any clothes in the washing machine. I start the washer, add the detergent, then walk off. I somehow never remember to wash the clothes! I will go open it when the cycle is finished and I have thought the clothes just vanished or the washer ate the clothes, until I look in the basket and realize I never added them. The plus side is that my washer has been extra clean the past 3 months! Ha! The down side is we go through a lot of laundry detergent!

I thought that was about as crazy as it was going to get this pregnancy but then I topped it off today with this...
(The yellow water is from using Crayola Bath Dropz)
I PUT BRODY IN THE BATHTUB IN HIS DIAPER!!!!!!!
I didn't even notice for the first few minutes!
I'm offically crazy!
He even thought I was crazy!

Please tell me you all have had moments like this, too! I just need to know I'm not alone! :)

I thought the water was the crazy part! I didn't even notice the diaper! Here's hoping you get back to "normal".

I'm anxious to get pregnant and SEE if I get to experience all the crazy dreams, brain farts, growing feet, etc. I love this and didn't notice Brody's diaper but thought MAN that's some yellow water! ;)

That's hilarious! I can totally relate! When I was pregnant with my son I would put refrigerated items in the pantry and vice versa! So many things spoiled because of my total brain glitch! Someone needs to write a book of things women do with "pregnancy brain"!

Haha, that is hilarious! I did some crazy "pregnant" things also but that is so funny!

That is so funny!! I'm pregnant now and haven't gotten the pregnancy brain yet! I'm sure I will!

HAHA!! It is so true that you lose your mind while pregnant. I thought I was going crazy when pregnant with Amelia. I almost brushed my teeth with hair gel, put the milk in the pantry, would walk into a room and totally forget why I went in there in the first place...it was terrible.

You know Brody had to wonder what was going on - wearing his diaper in the bath! HA!

I have to say, I still haven't recovered from the "pregnancy brain-loss."

I've put my three year old in the bath with all his clothes on this time around! He didn't even notice I was doing it but then freaked out saying, "My socks are wet now!!"

I also try to put the milk in the cabinet all the time, I guess my body wants warm milk?

A few weeks ago I was driving on the left side of the road for a while, thankfully it was in a strip mall parking lot!!

You are definitely not alone, girl!

I guess Brody just thought he was in the swimming pool without his bathing suit. ; )

People always told me about the 'pregnancy brain', but I honestly never believed it! Can I just say, OMGoodness?! I could not remember anything! And 4 months laster, I still cannot remember anything! I think my husband is praying for it all to come back to me! :)

Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!

oh gosh, this is hysterical! i, too, thought something was a bit fishy when it came to the highlighter yellow water- and didn't even notice the diaper!! too stinkin' funny. my biggest pregnancy brain fail this pregnancy, has been putting items where they don't belong. a gallon of milk in the pantry? the DISHWASHER liquid soap in the fridge? somedays, i swear i'm losing my mind....

Yes, I have, but I also thought the yellow water was the crazy part. I thought, 'what on Earth did she do?'! I have started to dress Aaron without a diaper before!

Ha! That's to funny. I once got in the shower with my glasses on. Doesn't work too well. LOL We have those Crayola Bath Dropz too & I hate it when my son asks for his bath to be yellow. It looks like pee! I usually try to talk him into a different color. LOL

I am laughing out loud. Love it. My crazy preggo dreams have officially started, too, and I have a feeling things like this are not far away for me, either...

I did stuff like that all the time when I was pregnant. I'm normally very organized and don't forget anything, but when I was pregnant, I was a mess!

Well I was going to tell on my sister-in-law Jill, but I see she has already done that. So I will had to her story. While she was pregnant with Amelia, she backed into my hubby's (her brother) car while pulling out of the drivway. We were parked behind her. She thought she put it in drive to pull up, but no she hit it again. :)

I do so many crazy things every day I'm scared Scott is going to leave me and try to find a sane wife.
So funny!!!

Too funny! I can so relate to pregnancy brain! When I was pregnant, I mailed our car payment to the city water office (they had to call me to come pick it up) then the next month I mailed them the correct check (for our water) but I forgot to sign it so I had to go pick it up...again! I am sure they thought I had totally lost my mind. I was also teaching at the time and would just forget the names of the kids in my class! I would literally stare at them and think "oh my word, I have NO IDEA what your name is!!!" (and this was in MAY!!!0 ;0)

ha ha ha! I sure bet he thought you were crazy :) Yellow bath water is pretty crazy as well. And yes after having a mom it is a new crazy thats for sure!

That is so funny, I didn't even notice the diaper until you mentioned it!! This post just convinced me to hold off my baby fever until after I graduate from nursing school... I can't afford to have pregnancy brain just yet :)

That is SO funny! I don't think I ever recovered from pregnancy brain, lol.

Great scientific evidence for pregnancy brain!!! Remember I told you the study that came out when I was pregnant w/ Anna Kate about "momnesia!" I'm a firm believer & should probably be a case study!!! Haha! It's been 2 1/2 years & my brain is still gone!

I never know what to expect when I read your blog! Girl, you are just crazy!!!! I really lol!!!! Oh, your brain never comes back, btw! ha!

I had a bad case of scatter brain syndrome when I was preg. with our daughter! I think we have all been there! We went through so much milk when I was preg. b/c I never would put it in the fridg. I would bring it in from the car and just sit it in the chair and forget about it! It was awful!

Hi, I'm new to your blog...and I found from another friend's, and I have loved reading about your family so far! I like blogs about daily life--whether single or married, parents or not--so much more interesting than some of the things on here. :)

Anyway, I was reading this post when my husband looked over as I was scrolling down. He said, "Wait! What is going on in that photo?!" So I explained to him what happened.

He replied, "It happens. Sometimes that just happens." Hope that makes you feel better. :)

I don't think I have ever commented before but I found your blog through Kelly and Jenna's! I love reading it because I can totally relate to everything. I have two little guys, 3 and 1, and I do things like this all the time. I will put the older one's socks and things on the little one and when I go to drop them off with my mom, she is always like, "Ummm, Mandy...why is Tristin wearing Tayson's clothes?". I hope it gets better over the years but I am afraid it probably won't! :)

Oh Jennifer, you are not alone! I am 17 weeks pregnant and I am experiencing this as well. I went to get a pedi over the weekend. While my toes were drying, I tipped him and put my wallet back into my purse. Once I was dry, I got up and walked right out without paying! Luckily, he caught me before I pulled out of the parking lot. Also, I walked into a gas station last week, paid for my purchase and walked out leaving it on the counter. Hopefully, this will be the worst of it but I have a feeling it is just beginning!

YES! I'm glad I'm not the only one, too! I get brain farts all the time.

Brooke said...

Oh my lord yes...NOlan is almost 7 months and I still do silly stuff. Last week I left my wallet on a store counter and left with my gas cap and door open after getting gas. I use to think I was so "with it" but these days I don't think so. Ahhh...the joys of motherhood! :)

Holly said...

Oh my word, that's hilarious!

Oh, my brain cells are mush!!! I tell my son Carter, he ate them when he was in my belly. The other day I was going into Target and for some reason thought I needed to point my car key clicker at the Target door before walking in. Of course the doors automatically opened on their own and I felt like such a dork when i realized what i had done. I hope nobody saw me!!!!!!

I am laughing, too funny!! I do have a question. Does the color stain the bathtub? I have thought about trying this in our bathtub, minus the diaper but I am afraid the color will stain the bath tub!!

Annie said...

hahaha...that is TOO funny. I totally had prgnancy brain when I was preggers with Blake. If I do something silly now my friends and fam automatically say..are you pregnant again?? ha

I came across your blog and thought this was a fun(ny!) post. I can totally relate. My friend calls this "mommy mush"! :)

In reference to your brain never really returning to normal, we [Adelle and I] accidentally stole a book from Babies R Us the other day. We just walked out with it like it was no big deal. And no one stopped us!!! I didn't realize it until we got home. I was so embarassed when I took it back to pay for it!!

Just had to say... this is hilarious! I haven't done anything too crazy during this pregnancy, but it's still early! ;) Last time my husband found a bottle of Windex inside the fridge!
