Playing Catch-Up

I just wanted to share a few cute pictures from this week. We have just had a normal week..nothing to exciting or pressing. Just fun days at home with Brody this week. Those are always a blessing! :)

He is really cheesing it these days when he sees the camera. Tell me this doesn't crack you up! He keeps us laughing all the time.

Monday night, Brody met his friend Sallie Grace for the first time. Sallie's sweet mom and I have become friends through Julee. We have seen each other several times this year, but have never gotten our two together until the other night. They loved it! Sallie was making some serious moves on Brody. She was hugging, kissing, and patting on him as soon as we got there. It was SO cute and So sweet! I think Brody was a little bummed Matt left to go back to work when we got there. It was Brody and all girls for the rest of the night. :)

I do understand Sallie's need to hug all over Brody...I do it all day long, too! Oh, and while we were at Julee's house, Brody got his 2nd haircut. I didn't really even watch and I didn't take a single picture. It just wasn't a big deal after the first time. His hair looks super cute and spikes much better these days! Thanks, JuJu!

Jill was over here one night this week, so she gave Brody a bath. She got some cute pics and videos of him. I think he had fun getting her soaking wet! :)

Brody is really enjoying brushing his teeth these days. He has had 8 teeth since he was 9 months old, so we have been brushing a while now. Hopefully, we can keep them healthy, clean, and pretty!

(Did you notice the blue and brown pumpkin on the sink that matches the bathroom perfectly! Found that at Hob Lob. Who makes blue and brown pumpkins? I don't know, but I sure love mine!)

Now that I have played catch-up on here, I need to play catch-up folding and hanging-up laundry..... Yep! I'm a little behind! :)

Have a great Thursday!

Weekend Fun

Friday night, we took Brody to FNO while we went to eat and do a little shopping. We really had no plans and just kind of went where ever we felt like going. Fun night! No pics. Sorry!

Saturday, we got up and slowly got around. We watched the Hogs lose. Good times.
Saturday afternoon, some families in my parents' neighborhood got together for their annual pumpkin carving party.....so of course, we went!

Brody enjoyed watching all the big kids play.

Brody helped clean out the pumpkin guts...

I carved the pumpkin for our family. I have never carved one in my entire life and I don't think I probably will again until next year. I am pretty sure all that cutting gave me carpel tunnel! Holy cow! My hand was cramping when I got finished and I even used an easy pattern! Here is the pumpkin once it was finished!

Sunday, after church, I helped host a baby shower for our sweet friend, Lindsey. She is having a baby girl, Adeline, in just a few short weeks! Here are all the hostesses with Lindsey...Me, Sarah, Heather, Lindsey, Shannon, Jill and Abby. Heather, Shannon and Jill are all pregnant also, so we have lots more showers in the future! We can't wait to meet their sweet babies, too!

Shannon had this cute little baby scale that she used for the middle of the table. I thought it was perfect for the shower!Brody went with me to the shower because Josh had 2 flag football games this afternoon. He left his mark all over Shannon's house by putting pieces of chewed-up apple slices all over the floor. I told her we were just getting her house ready for when West arrives! Sorry if you find apples all over the place, Shannon. I tried to clean them all up! :)

Brody was very tired and fussy towards the end of the shower and finally just fell asleep while we were there. He slept on the chair in the living room for a little while!

Hope you all had a great weekend!

BoBo the Giraffe

Several months ago, I asked for name suggestions for Brody's giraffe. We got a lot of suggestions and several that we loved. I really thought we would probably call it LuLu, which was our favorite of the suggested names. We still had not started to call it anything...mainly we referred to it as "your giraffe." We would say things like, "Is that your giraffe?" or "Tell your giraffe nite nite" or "Are you playing with your giraffe?" You get the picture...the thing had no name! Until this week when Brody called it BoBo. We thought it was just a random thing, but he kept calling it Bobo. So, your giraffe now has a name.....Bobo.I really like the name. It's pretty catchy and will be even better when I say BroBro (which is what I call Brody) and Bobo in the same sentence. Can you hear it now..."BroBro is playing in his room with BoBo." Nice little ring to it! I'm sure I will get them confused and they will soon be like siblings. I will call the giraffe BroBro accidentally and then try to get Brody's attention by yelling Bobo across the house. This should be fun! :)

Lunch Date

Today, Brody and I had lunch with some sweet girlfriends! We met up with Harper and Kelly, Kate (we are friends from church), Julee, Melissa (who we met for the first time today) and Ashley (my friend from MOPS). It was soooo much fun!
I seriously think Brody really loves Harper!! She leaned over towards him and he kissed her head. (Don't tell Scott!!) It was so cute! They really enjoy having lunch together. They are like two old people that have been married forever...they don't say a word and just keep eating. Every once in a while they will look to see what the other one is eating and then they just keep on eating. Hilarious! I think Harper and Brody are going to be great friends! :)
I love this picture! It looks like Harper just broke his heart and he is crying! Really, he was just tired and started to rub his eyes!We all had the best time visiting and eating. It is so nice to just get out with girls (and one little boy) and just enjoy lunch!

Date Night

Yesterday, I decided Josh and I needed a little date!! This weekend was spent with friends and family, as were the 2 weekends before that, so Josh and I really haven't had a lot of us time lately. Usually, Josh will take care of getting my parents to come keep Brody so we can go somewhere, but I took care of it today. I asked my mom if she could come over after work and then I called Josh and told him. I also told him to be thinking about what he wanted to do and we would go do it. What did he chose?

The driving range!!!!!
I don't play golf. I have no desire to play golf. I am awful at golf.....But for my husband, I will attempt to hit the golf ball like I love the game. :)
We had the best time, although I really stink. Thankfully, I didn't hit anyone with a ball or with my club.

You can tell Josh is way more serious than I am! :)

And because I know you really want to see me swing a club, here is a video of me from last night. I have a really ugly swing but I have only been to the driving range one time before so I'm not a pro!

After we left there, we went to the mall. I bought a cute little jacket and we ate at the food court. I feel like that helped make our date even as far as guy things and girl things! :)

One last thing, would you please go here and pray for our friend, Sarah, and her husband, Ben. Sarah is pregnant with a little girl, Weslee, and at the routine 20-week ultrasound yesterday, they discovered the baby has a neurological birth defect. Our hearts are just broken for them. Please join us in praying for them and their sweet family!

MOPS Trip to the Pumpkin Patch

Our church's MOPS group went to the pumpkin patch today. It was such a beautiful day and was perfect for being outside!
Here are a few pictures of our fun day!

I thought he might be over his fascination with the little pumpkins, but he obviously loves them still!

We went on a hay ride though the pumpkin patch, then they stopped for us to all get off a pick a pumpkin. It was so fun!

On the hay ride, ready to go!

Brody kept covering his ears while we were riding. I guess he thought the tractor was too loud! It was really funny!

Brody got to chose his pumpkin and we pulled it off the vine.

He was so proud of his new pumpkin....

But he didn't realize it was so heavy!

After the hay ride, I tried to get some pictures of Brody. Apparently, he has decided not to answer to the name "Brody" because I said it no less than 100 times while trying to take his picture and he never ONCE looked at me. These are the 2 best pictures from today!

Here is proof he would not look at me. There are 24 pictures in this collage and he isn't looking at me once!!!

We had such a great day together. I am so thankful that I have the opportunity to stay home with Brody and spend our days doing fun things like this! It really is such a blessing!

Wonderful Weekend

We had a wonderful weekend with lots of fun activities. Every weekend is wonderful that we get to spend as a family. I never take that time for granted! Doing fun things together makes it extra special! :)

Friday night, we took Brody to FNO. Here is a picture of our sweet man before we left the house. (Julee got him this cute little outfit for his birthday!)We left church and headed to eat sushi before going to the Shiloh Homecoming football game. The sushi was so good....but my date was really the best part of dinner!
We headed to the game after we ate and bundled up before we got out of the car. We were still cold, but it was a lot of fun!
Saturday, we went to the pumpkin patch. I wanted to get some cute pics of Brody, but is at the age where he is constantly moving so I didn't get any ideal pictures, but we did have fun!

Instead of crawling between the piles of pumpkins, he would just crawl over them!

I love this family picture!

Sunday evening, our church had an event called Dinner with the Pastor, which is an opportunity for guests, regular attendees and new members to learn more about our church. They ask several couples from the church to help host, so Josh and I were asked to help this year. It was so much fun! Brody spent a little over 6 hours total in the nursery at church on Sunday. Josh and I had to be there at 8:40 to work in the nursery during the 9:15 service. Then, we didn't get out of our service until 12:15. Sunday night, Brody went back to the nursery at 5:15 and stayed until 8. I am sure he is going to be thrilled about going to MDO Monday morning! Haha!

Hope y'all all had a great weekend as well!
