Fall Fun

It has been BEAUTIFUL here this week and has felt sooooo good outside! I love that it is cooling off and starting to feel like fall. Fall is my VERY FAVORITE season. I love football, cool weather, and the beautiful colors of the trees. I love eating warm, comfort food. I love wearing sweaters and boots (which I busted out a pair of boots yesterday and it made my day!) I love Thanksgiving...it's my favorite holiday! I just love so many things about this time of year!

Also, every milestone in mine and Josh's life together has occurred in the fall, so I love that fall is a celebration time for us, too! We started dating 9 years ago this month. We were engaged 3 years ago this month. We got married 2 years ago this November. And this Saturday, will be our baby boy's first birthday! Lots of fun times in our family during the fall!

I put out a few fall decorations this past week. I still have some things in the attic, but they haven't been brought down yet! Hint Hint husband!

Maybe sometime after this weekend, I will get a few more things up. I don't even know what I have in the attic. It's always a surprise when I get things down because I don't remember things from year to year! :)
Brody loves playing the drums on our new pumpkin. Allison, please don't let Baxter see this picture because then he really will want to get B a drum set for his birthday! Haha!
I don't like denim with denim, but I wanted to try his new jean jacket on him this morning! His shirt says, "irresistible".....so true!!Brody got in a little fight with the scarecrow....... And he won!
We are busy getting things ready for Brody's party on Saturday! Hope y'all are having a wonderful week!
What is your favorite thing about the fall??

10:55 Service

Today was the kick-off for the new 10:55 Service at our church! Josh and I have been looking forward to it for several weeks now! I am volunteering as a greeter two Sundays a month, and Josh is on the set-up team each Sunday morning. I love that we each have our place to serve in this new service!
Here I am in my shirt. I loved wearing this and jeans to church this morning! It made for an easy decision when I was picking out clothes last night.
I can't even begin to tell you how AWESOME the service was this morning. I walked in right as it was starting since I had been in a different part of the church directing people to the service. When I walked in and saw the crowd I almost started to cry. They were having to put out more chairs and the room was so full of people. It turned out that there were 303 people there this morning. That is huge considering it was our first Sunday and only 100 of the 303 were the group that was helping start the service. That means 200 people were there besides us! The goal was to have 400 people by December but I think God can completely blow that number out of the water and we are praying he will! I can't wait to share with y'all all the great things that God does and how the service grows!

Of course in the midst of the excitement there always has to be something random that happens so our little thing was that Brody boy has rotavirus. Sweet. I called my mom last night and told her I would stay home with Brody any other Sunday but I COULD NOT miss this morning. So we worked out the perfect little plan. Mom and Dad went to the 9:15 Service and were out by 10:30. We got to church and handed Brody off to them in the foyer and they headed right back out with him and took him to their house so we could attend the 10:55 service. I'm soooooooo thankful they live up here!

He hasn't had fever and has acted perfectly normal minus the excessive diapers. Y'all they stink so bad it makes us gag and we don't gag on our own child's dirty diapers. We talked to the pediatric nurse last night and she told us we were doing exactly what we needed to be doing and it should be gone within 5 days. We also talked to our friend who is a PA this morning and she said the same thing. I just trusted her more because she is a mom, too! :) We started Pedialyte yesterday and he hates it. I even bought a few different flavors and he doesn't like them but we force it down. I think since we do not let him have juice, he isn't used to sweet, sugary things like that.
We picked up lunch and took it out to my parent's house since that is where B man was. It is such a gorgeous day so we ate lunch on the back patio! My family thinks I'm nuts for taking pictures of everything we do but I told them they will thank me one day when they have every day of their life documented! :) Haha!
Hope you had a wonderful Sunday at church as well!

It's a GIRL!

Ok so before you think you missed something, I am NOT the one having the baby! My friend Heather is and last night I got to go to the gender party at their house! It was soooooo fun!
Heather and Jonathan (I forgot to take a pic of them last night so I found an older one) had their 20 week ultrasound yesterday afternoon, but they kept the gender of the baby a secret until the party last night! All of their family and a few friends met over at the house around 9. Heather had made all these cute little boy/girl snacks but we were all so nervous that none of us could eat them! Haha!

We picked to either be on Team Girl or Team Boy. I chose Team Girl because I have had a girl feeling ever since Heather told me she was pregnant. We were on even teams of 7 and each person was given a card to open. We went back and forth between the two teams opening cards. One person from the boy team would read a card, then one person on the girl team would read a card. Each card had a "family number fact" on their that would tell us how many points the team got. For instance, one of the boy cards said, "the baby is due one day after daddy's birthday. One point", so the boy team got one point.

We went back and forth until the very last card, which I happened to have. The score was 26 for the girl and 28 for the boy. I knew that all my card needed was 2 points and they were having a girl so as soon as I opened it I squealed because I saw this.....

I knew it meant GIRL!!!!!!!
This was very exciting for Jonathan's side of the family since this will be the first girl! Jonathan has 4 brothers and no sisters and then Zachary is the only grandchild on the Schisler side of the family, so after 6 boys there is FINALLY going to be a girl!

Here was the final score on the board! It was such a cute and fun game! Jonathan thought of the game himself. It takes a technical mind to come up with something like that!! Haha!

In all the excitement I didn't get once picture of Heather or Jonathan or Zachary. Haha! It was so fun and I was so excited to be a part of it. I can't wait for baby girl to get here in February!

10 Honest Things About Me!

One day last week, my friend, Terri, tagged me to post 10 Honest Things About Myself. I thought today would be a good day to share since I didn't have much to blog about! 1. I don't like to get dressed up. I know it's weird, but I just don't think of myself as very girly. I would live in workout clothes, a ponytail and no make-up if I thought I could. In college, I probably wore jeans and t-shirts and no make-up 3 days a week. But on the other hand, once I am dressed-up and have make-up on, I like it. I just don't like the process of getting there!

2. I had a c-section with Brody and I secretly hoped I was going to have one. I know that sounds horrible, but I was just so nervous about having a normal delivery. I was so surprisingly calm going into my c-section. The nurses and anesthesiologist kept telling me they had never seen anyone so calm during their first c-section. I just had such a peace about it and it really was a wonderful experience under the circumstances.

3. I love to stay up late and sleep in. I wish so badly I was a morning person. I want to be one, but I'm just not. I usually get up at 6:30 or 7 in the mornings and it is painful every morning. Maybe one day I will enjoy getting up early!

4. Josh and I chose not to put a TV in our bedroom when we got married. During our pre-martial counseling, our pastor encouraged us not to put a TV in the bedroom for our first year of marriage. He said it would encourage conversation at night. So we tried it. We ended up pregnant within 8 weeks. I guess that's what happens when you have no other entertainment in the room. :) We still don't have a TV in our room after almost 2 years because we really enjoy just talking at night before we go to sleep. Some couples think we are crazy and that's fine. It's what works for us. And if you are wondering if Josh really likes that we don't have a TV in the room, he does. He is usually the first to tell our friends who are getting married not to put a TV in their bedroom!

5. I like to clean and organize things, especially when I am stressed. I think it just relieves my stress if I put my focus on something else. Plus, I always love when I am finished! I also have an obsession with organizational containers. I sometimes just buy cute containers and then will have to find something to put in it. I always have extra containers that are not be used in case I just randomly come across something that needs to be organized or stored. When I was pregnant and couldn't sleep, I would just get up and clean out closets or cabinets. It really is like a hobby for me!

6. I bite my nails like crazy. I can't even remember when it started but I think I was around 5, which means I have been doing it for 19 years. I stopped once after we got married, but then I started back up again after a few weeks. It drives me nuts but I do it without realizing I am even biting them!

7. I count the number of swipes of deodorant I put under my arms each morning. They have to be an even number, and they have to be the same number on both sides or I have to start over. For instance, if I put 4 swipes under one arm and then did 5 under the other, I would either start over or make it 6 on each side so they were even. I count while I swipe and it makes me so mad because Josh knows that, so when I get ready in the mornings, he will say random numbers out loud to try and throw me off. It's a weird OCD thing I think! Haha! I think he and my college roomie were the only two people that knew this until now!

8. I don't really like to have dessert after meals. I always do though when we have people over or when people make it and I feel obligated to eat it. I feel like I can't enjoy the dessert if I have just stuffed myself with food. I love sweets but we just aren't the type to have dessert after a meal. I can count on one hand the number of times Josh and I have ordered dessert together at a restaurant in our 9 years of being together. I would rather eat it a few hours after I eat my meal. If dessert ever comes with my meal, I always take it home.

9. I like to fall asleep on the couch on Friday nights. It's seriously the weirdest habit ever, but I have been doing it my whole life. My favorite thing is to get on the couch around 10 or 10:30 on Friday nights and fall asleep. Then I wake myself up after a couple of hours and go to bed. I have done this as long as I can remember, and now I even have Josh in the habit of doing it as well. If you ever wonder what we are doing late on Friday nights, we are probably sleeping on our sectional!

10. I can't use nasal spray because it makes me throw up. As soon as I shoot it up my nose, I am over the toilet. It's the weirdest thing, but all those things are connected and when I feel the spray in the back of my throat, it causes me to get sick. Same thing with prescription eye drops. They get in the back of my throat and it makes me sick. The first time that happened, I called my mom at work and told her I thought I was being poisoned inside our house because the back of my throat was burning. I was so convinced there was poison in our house, that I went and sat on the front porch until the burning stopped. I think I was in middle school! Haha!

Fun at the Park

My parent's neighborhood has this fun little park in the back of it, so the 3 of us headed out there yesterday evening to go play. It was FINALLY sunny here....it's been raining and cloudy for days....and it felt just like fall weather last night! It was a perfect evening to spend some time outside!
Cute little mister crawling towards the camera! He would bang on the plexi-glass to get our attention! Playing with Gigi
He moved fast across that thing! You can see how sunny it was! It was beautiful!
Jill and Brody on this crazy slide! It hurt my bottom when I went down it. Sorry, no pics of that! :)
It didn't seem to bother Brody though.... He said, "Ohhh that was fun!"

Sweet picture!
My dad had been out riding his bike and stopped by on his way home. Brody really like sitting on the bike and playing with the handle bars! After we got home, we watched the Cowboys game. We really do like the Cowboys, but sadly, they lost as well. What it is with us and our teams this weekend? Haha!
Hope you had a wonderful Monday!
It is supposed to rain here again tonight. I think it has been raining for a week now. I am ready for some sunshine and fall weather!!!

Game Day Fun

We had such a fun day tailgating with our friends and family who came up from Benton for the Razorback game. Brody did so well the entire afternoon! It made it even more fun that he was having a great time, too. Brody getting strapped into his Razorback stroller! I LOVE that we have this to take him to games in!He kept going up to people trying to get a bite of their food. It was so cute!Brody and my aunt looking at the blow up Hog. He really liked it!My cute boys! They had a lot of fun together. This probably looks weird unless you are from Arkansas! This trailer comes to all the games and carries Tusk, the 500lb pig, at the bottom of it. Before the games the cheerleaders ride on top of it! It's a real big deal! It stopped and everyone hurried over to look and take pictures. Haha! Tusk...He's pretty big!Brody and I in front of the trailer. I looked pretty nasty after tailgating in the rain/mist!Brody and I talking to the girl mascot, Sooie. Brody really loved her! I was so glad he wasn't scared. He kept pulling on her tusk! These are pictures of Brody looking at the mascots and cheerleaders once they got back on the top of the trailer. They all started playing peek-a-boo with Brody before they drove off. It was sooooo sweet! I should have videoed it! He was laughing and then he would hide his face. So cute!Gigi and BrodyOur little family. We have a picture of the 3 of us from his first tailgate in front of this flag, too!
Future Razorback walking around the party!

Sharing a cookie with Big Daddy

I love this picture of Brody and my dad!

Playing peek-a-boo with my uncle's hat! Brody was so precious and fun all day!

My mom, my aunt, my uncle and Brody before we left to head home.

If you read my blog regularly, you are about to be SHOCKED. I got my aunt a birthday cake from Rick's and took it to the tailgate party because her birthday was Thursday. Did I take a picture of it? Nope. I know. Shocking. It was cute little thing. It was chocolate icing with red, black and white thick stripes on the side (Razorback colors). Just try to visualize it. Thanks! :)

We had planned to go watch the game with friends after the tailgate, but Brody passed out in the car because he was so tired from the tailgate and the fact that he didn't get to take a nap. We just headed home after the tailgate and put him to bed and watched the game at home. We made tacos and I laid on my couch in my pajamas. It really was fun and comfortable, but there isn't anything like being at the stadium watching the game! The game was close, but Georgia ended up winning 52-41. From the looks of it, we have potential this year, so maybe we will pull off a win next weekend!!!

Hope y'all had a fun weekend as well!!

Did your teams win??
