I did let him end his lunch with some vanilla yogurt for dessert. He was very happy when he finally got to that part of the meal!
I blew up Brody's safari roller today. He hasn't played with the roller at all, but he has slapped the mess out of the box and laughed and squealed while doing it. I even tried rolling it too him, thinking he might want to play if I played with him, and he scooted around it and headed straight for the box. I love cheap thrills!
On a not so fun note, Josh has been running a fever for a couple of days. He went to the doctor today and got some meds and a shot. His fever was still close to 102 tonight, so I knew it was time for B man to hit the road! The last thing I want is for him to get sick, so I packed a bag, pumped a bottle and sent him to my parents house. I figured he would get more than enough attention over there. I probably spent 10 minutes telling Jill exactly how to do things. I have no idea why. They have kept him a hundred times, but something about over night totally makes me go into freak mom mode. I'm sure by time we have our 3rd child, I will not even put the car in park and just pass them out the car window to anyone who will take them! :) It's just hard to be relaxed with your first, but I do pretty well most of the time. This is only his second night away from us. The first one was when he was 6 months old and he spent the night with them for fun. I'm sure he will never want to come back home! Haha! Brody kept reaching for Josh last night and today, but Josh didn't hold him because he didn't want to get him sick. Brody looked really confused when Josh would walk away and not take him like, "what's wrong with my daddy?" I know they will both be glad to love on each other again soon.
Enjoy your weekend!
View of the crib. The canvas above the bed is Brody's initials and was painted by my sweet friend, Leslie.
Animal canvasas above the changing table. Brody LOVES these and is constantly grabbing them off the wall! We found this cute set on Ebay.
1. Josh and I went out for a couple of hours last night while B stayed with Gigi. While I was getting ready, Brody crawled/scooted into the bathroom, so I decided to fix his hair. I spiked it and sprayed it with a little hairspray so it would stay put. He loved looking at himself in the mirror with his hair fixed. It was very similar to someone else in our house who likes to look at himself in the mirror after he gels his hair in the mornings. Brody must get it honest!

3. Speaking of a tan....we are going to the beach in 3 1/2 weeks and I have a few concerns. The first concern is my last little bit of belly/baby fat is not welcomed in my swimsuit. I'm working on it, but it's not cooperating. It just will not fall off. Let's all hope that with daily visits to the treadmill at the gym it will soon go away. My second concern is spending 13 hours in the car with Brody. We will do 3 of those hours to Benton on one day, then drive 10 the following day. Oh goodness! He's an AWESOME baby, but even I whine in the car after like 5 hours! Maybe you should start praying now! We may just decide to live down there for the next two years instead of driving back the next weekend! :)
4. Brody loves cherrios. He has been snacking on them for about 2 weeks now and he can't get enough of them. I laugh so hard when I hear him chomping on them! He works those 4 teeth like a pro! His new thing is to "hide" them in his bib. If I need 30 minutes to do somethings in the kitchen, I will put him in the highchair with cherrios or a teething biscut. That gets me enough time to unload and reload the dishwasher or clean off the counter tops. I can also keep an eye on him since he is in there with me. I kept seeing him stashing his cherrios the other day and it made me laugh. I don't think he figured out he could reach back in and get them, but he did figure out how to put them in there!
5. Brody loves to "read" in the bath. Some days I just stick Brody in the sink if I need to hurry and give him a bath after he has eaten. I know he gets bored because it's not as fun as the big bath tub so I gave him this book the other day and he loved it!
The reception was a beautiful sit down dinner. Brody had his own spot at our table. They had put a highchair where his name card was instead of a chair. It was so cute! They also had a gift bag for him waiting in his highchair as well. It had a bib, sippy cup, apple juice and cheerios. He was very excited about having something to eat at the reception!

I never realize how tall I am until I see pictures of me standing next to Josh. Especially when I wear heels! Josh is 6'1" or 6'2". I look ginormous in this picture!!!
Brody with Mimi and Poppy. Josh's mom went with us to the wedding.
Yesterday afternoon, I took Brody to a park in Fayetteville. It is very close to the church he attends MDO at, so after I picked him up from there, we headed to the park to walk. It was such a beautiful day! I am soooo excited about the weather this week. I see lots of afternoon walks planned for us! He seemed to really enjoy being at the park. He is such an observer and was constantly finding people to watch. He loved seeing all the children, people and dogs.

Brody is taking a nap right now, but we are going walking on the trail in our neighborhood once he wakes up! Hello sunshine!
He didn't seem to mind playing alone though and ended up falling asleep sitting up a few minutes after I took this picture. I guess it's hard work to have so much entertainment in your crib!
Brody was mad and I guess decided to just stand up and tell us all about it! I'm normally a "cry it out" kind of mom and I really don't mind letting him cry during his nap. I know he will eventually fall asleep, but for some reason, which I know is totally a God thing, we went to check on him after 5 minutes of crying and we found him standing up, hanging over the rail of his crib! I almost cried!! Josh walked in and picked him up and I just stood at the door with my hands over my mouth trying to figure out how he learned to do that and thanking the Lord that he didn't fall out. He hasn't even hinted that he knew how to stand up on his own, but apparently he does, and in record time, too! So Josh got to spend a few minutes lowering the crib.
It didn't seem to bother him that he was missing his nap!! Haha! We finally put him down for a late nap at 5:00 and he didn't wake up until 8:00 Sunday morning. We didn't mean for him to go to bed at 5, but I guess he was tired. He was really happy after those

Make shift bedside tables from Hobby Lobby. I love these! The brown and gold color matched this room so well so I decided I would make them work! These will stay somewhere in our house for a while because they are great to store things inside! (The front pic if when Brody was a week old and the back pic is from baby Dedication this past November.)
