Play Time and Easter Bucket

These are a few pictures that I took this afternoon while Brody and I were playing with his stacking rings on the floor. He was having the best time!

How cute is this?? This is what I had made for Brody's Easter basket, instead of using a tradtional Easter basket. I could not be more pleased with it! This sweet girl, Jaime, makes these and sells them HERE on her blog. She does all kinds of cute themed buckets and she is incredibly reasonable! This was only $20!! Thanks, Jaime.

Brody and Momma Pics

I thought I would share a few of the pictures we gave Josh for his birthday. Most of our family reads this blog, so it is much easier to share this way instead of emailing the link to everyone. Our photographer, Wendy, did a great job on these! Brody was far from the perfect subject this particular day. He would hardly even crack a smile at her, but as always, she was able to capture some great shots! Josh really loved them and that made it even more special to me. Check out Wendy's website here! Our Weekend

We had a really fun weekend celebrating Josh's birthday. Since Friday was his birthday, he got to leave work at noon. We left for Branson as soon as Josh got home and we were there by early afternoon, which was so much better than getting there at 7:30 or 8. We stayed at the Hilton Promenade at the Branson Landing, which was great because we could walk right out of the lobby and go shop! And it was great to be so close to the hotel room if we needed to run back upstairs with Brody.

We shopped some Friday afternoon. Then, my college roommate, Katie came and met us at the hotel. She lives in Branson and works for K Life. When we were talking on the phone this past week, she offered to come watch Brody in our hotel room so that Josh and I could go to dinner for his birthday. So sweet of her! It worked out really well because the restaurant we went to was in the Landing so we were right there by the hotel if she needed me to run back upstairs for anything. Of course, she didn't! Brody had a lot of fun with her! Thanks again, Katie!

Here is a picture of Brody in his hotel crib! Haha! He slept in it until about 5:30 or 6. Not our usual 12 or 13 hours a night, but it was a good amount of sleep for being away from home!

Saturday we just hung around the hotel and went a shopped at the Carter outlet, then headed back home. Before we left, I nursed Brody in a parking lot. Yep, I'm that kind of mom! I got this cute picture of him and Josh before we put him back in his carseat. Before you think I'm Britney Spears, the car was parked in a parking lot!! :)

Saturday night, we went to eat at my parent's house to celebrate Josh's birthday. My dad cooked steaks and they were soooo good! I didn't get very many pictures out there because my camera battery was about dead, but I did get a few. I'm not for sure where Brody was when we took this pic. Either with Gigi or Big Daddy!

This is a picture of Josh's cake from Rick's Bakery. He has this new obsession with motorcycles. Uhhh! He thinks he needs one and I think Brody needs a dad, so that's about how we have settled it around here. Josh's dad has several that he has bought recently and Josh begged me last weekend to let him bring one back up here from Benton. He wanted me to follow him while he rode it up. Ummm No! So this was my family's way of giving him a motorcycle for his birthday! Haha! This was one CUTE cake!

Happy Birthday, Josh!

Today is my sweet husband's 26th birthday!! It is his first birthday as a dad, which makes today even more special for him! He is, hands down, the sweetest person I know. I can't put into words all he does for us or how much he loves us. He is a wonderful husband and a wonderful dad, so today we are celebrating him!

This is a picture of the birthday boy last weekend when we went to celebrate with his family! He's so cute!! I'm so glad I'm married to him!Here is Josh's gift from Brody and me. We secretly had our picture made a few weeks ago while Josh was at work. It was so hard not to tell him funny stories about Brody while we were getting the pictures taken. It was hard not to show him the proofs when they were online. It was even harder to have the pictures for 3 days without showing him. I finally just wrapped them so that I didn't accidentally show him!! Haha! There are several more that I ordered but I only framed a couple. One is for his desk at work and one is for his night stand. (I don't know if you can see it, but Brody is sticking his little tongue out in the smaller picture!)

The Name Game

This is Brody with his giraffe, whom he has just recently discovered and dearly loves. So dearly, that every time we put him near her, he pulls back with a mouth full of fur from licking and biting her.

Here is the deal...We don't have a name for the giraffe and I don't want to call her Giraffe or Mrs. Giraffe. (I say she because check out those lashes!!)

I was wondering if you had any name suggestions for her. I wants something cute, but not so hard to say that Brody will struggle with it when he starts talking. We have thought about it for a while and have even had the input of some friends and family. Needless to say, creativity doesn't run strong in our genes, therefore the names are pretty pitiful! Haha!

So we need your help!! What should we call her????

Random Thursday Thoughts

This is a picture of Brody and me from Sunday evening on our patio. It was 70 something degrees outside. Now, it is Thursday and it is sleeting and 30 degrees. Seriously?

I could eat him up! I think all babies are precious when they sleep, but I think he is the MOST precious of all when he sleeps. (I can say that because I'm the mom!) When I go in to check on him at night and he looks this sweet, I want to scoop him up and kiss all over him. But then I remember how unpleasant babies can be when you wake them, especially this baby! Ha! (I had to move his blanket off his face to snap this one!)

I put this cute little hat on Brody today before I took him to MDO(since it is FREEZING). I love it, but I'm not for sure he feels the same way about it! Ha!

And in true Brody fashion, he pulled it over his head and tried to go to sleep! Haha! Look at how he is holding it down so it wouldn't roll back up! I had to take it off of him because I was afraid he wouldn't be able to breath! Seriously, why does he love things over his face??

Brody was laying on the bed in our guest bedroom today. I had one of my shirts laying on there and Brody decided he wanted to wear it. Actually, I think he just enjoyed chewing on it and rolling around with it!

Look at the drool on that shirt! Yum.

He ended up taking nap on the bed with my shirt over his face. He is such a sweetie!

Laundry Helper

I had a little help with the laundry today from this boy!

He had to pre-treat some of his sweet potato and carrot stains on his clothes.

Fun Friday

Brody and I had a fun day yesterday! It was 80 degrees here so we went on a long walk yesterday morning with some friends. I think we walked about an hour and a half. It was soooo great to finally be able to get out of the house and be outside. I think we were both getting bored being inside all day long!

Then, we met Mom and Jill for lunch. It was so sunny and pretty yesterday that Brody had to wear sun glasses!! Haha!!!

We are working hard at getting Brody to sit-up on his own. This was his attempt at lunch yesterday!! Haha! Poor little guy is folded in half!

Last night, Jill, Julee, and I went to the Razorback Gymnastics Meet. We went to eat before the meet, so we thought we were about an hour late getting there. Well, apparently it started a little earlier than we thought, so we made it for the last 30 minutes! Haha! It worked out well for us though because we ended up getting in for free! I love to watch gymnastics. I took gym for 8 or 9 years growing up, but I was never that great at it!

Happy 5 Month Brody!!

Brody turned 5 months old today!! I need this to slow down! I feel like it's just going too fast for me! Haha!! I think this month's cake turned out super cute! I can honestly say that this was my very first St. Patty's Day cake! It was sooooo good! We started getting chocolate cake last month and I think it is even better than the white cake! I might eat a piece for breakfast in the morning!! Haha!

Everyone asks us if we will continue this after the first year, and the answer is no. The month birthdays stop with month 11! Then, we move on to year birthdays. I do plan on doing this with each of our kids (assuming that we are blessed with more children). That means we might have 40+ month b-day cakes before we are all done! I was thinking about it and the Duggars would have 198 if they did them for 11 months with all 18 kids! Whoa!
