Brody's Monkey

Brody has this little monkey that is soft cotton on one side and silk on the other. It is his sleep silky. If he is tired, he will hold it while he crawls around the house. Sometimes he stops and will hold monkey to the side of his face. That is one way we know he is ready for bed! Once he gets into bed, he usually puts monkey right next to his head and then goes right to sleep. Monkey doesn't go places with us; He is just for sleeping. I send monkey with him to MDO so he can sleep with it. I'm sure he could sleep without monkey, but we have never tried. We accidentally left monkey at my parents' house a few times so Brody has had to use his back-up silky that is a dinosaur. If we lost both, we would be in trouble. I just know it! I actually have looked online to see if I could find another monkey and buy it so that we have an actual back-up monkey! Haha!

Here are some pictures of Brody with monkey when he was just 3 weeks old. He had a good hold him!
Look how big monkey looks next to Brody then! It's fun to see how much he has grown! I'm thinking monkey may tag along with him to Pre-School!:)

Does your child have something like this that they sleep with?

Oh how cute! His little spiky hairdo is so stinkin cute! Yes my little Kelcee who by the way just turned 3 has a bunny named Ruby! She loves Ruby! She sleeps with her and we take her on trips! (We don't take her to local outings just vacays, etc.) I don't know what we would do if we lost Ruby! I think Ruby will tag along with Kelcee to pre-school Ha! Ha!

First time commenter :) My little boy was born Sept 18, 2008 so he is just a little older than Brody! He sleeps with a silky blanket and a paci too. He is obsessed with both. Have you thought about when you are going to take away his paci and if so, how you will do it? I am totally panicking over taking Gabe's away! He does NOT sleep without it and will just cry and cry!! He only gets it for naps and night times (well, most of the time) but I am very worried to take it away...

Oh yes!!!! We have a Bunny lovie, two stuffed bunnies, and a blanket in her crib. I know I am starting bad habits, but she plays with them when she wakes up in the middle of the night and in the morning. Anything to get more sleep! Only the lovie and one of the bunnies go with her to MDO. I need to post about her party in her crib. It is hilarious!

That is so cute, I haven't ever seen a monkey one. Were you able to find it online? I'm pregnant with a boy now. My little girl that is 2 has a pink blanket, we call it blankie and she sleeps with it. We've actually left it before at my parents or my husband's and we've had to buy back up ones, we now have 3 pink blankies. It's minky dot on one side and silk on the other. She LOVES it! It goes to MDO with her as well.

That is adorable! My son sleeps with his blue blankie that a sweet friend of my sister in-law's made for Ace so that he could have the same kind as his cousins.

Cute little monkey. I can't get over how much Brody is looking like a toddler! I know that has to be bittersweet. ; )

I LOVE your blessing rings. You did a wonderful job!

Oh yes, our son has four of them. We started with one and then ended up with five (we have since lost one). I think we just ended up buying what was left in the store at the time. Our son suffered from reflux, so we really needed backups so we could keep washing them. Now though, he is almost four, if he finds four of them he will carry four of them around when he is tired. His are pale blue, with a bunny head and we call them "whoopie". My sister, who is 25 this month and married , still has a blanket.....

How cute! Peyton had his blanket (AKA: "Nite-Nite" is what he named it.) Then right around his 3 year old birthday we left Nite-Nite in an Arby's by accident while on the way to Flordia. So then he started being attached to his silky pillow and he still sleeps with it but I don't allow him to carry it around anymore. Then Parker decided on a small blue blanket and we also named it Nite-Nite. He sleeps with it but around 18 months I made him start leaving it in his crib.

My son has a white (well it used to be white) bear that came with some flowers I got when he was born. Impossible to get another one and now 3 1/2 years later he has made a voice for "bear". Bear is his best friend and we would not be able to go on with out him!
