A mini-Josh

Brody is a little version of Josh and I just love it! I think Josh is SO cute and I love that Brody is looking more and more like him these days. This is how I found them the other night... Look at their arms...they are laying exactly the same way. I promise I didn't pose them either. Josh usually sleeps with his mouth open like Brody is doing in this picture! Haha! They really look alike when they do that.

This just melts my heart.

I am in love with these two.

Thanksgiving Tie Onesie

This is what Brody will be wearing on Thanksgiving Day. I wasn't going to show this onesie to y'all until after Thursday, but when I got it in the mail I was just SOOO excited about it that I had to share it!
One of our friends from Benton makes onesies, tutus, bow, etc, so I had her make this for Brody. She is so talented and so creative! I just told her I wanted a Thanksgiving tie onesie for Brody and she found this precious fabric that has parts of Bible verses on it. It is so neat and something that Brody will continue to wear even after Thanksgiving. I love it! Here are a few pictures of some other things Amber has made that I love!
Cute little Razorback tutu setThis was for a Lilly's first birthday as well as for when he little brother was born right around the same time. This would be so cute for pictures with Santa! I love the little candy cane!
Another cute Christmas tutu I love this pink and orange tutu and bow.

Our Weekend

We had a fun weekend around our house! Brody says, "Yay for the weekends!"
Friday night, we took Brody to FNO at church and then we went to see some friends' new baby at the hospital. After that, we went to eat Mexican food, got Brody and then came home and did nothing. Good, relaxing night!
Saturday morning, we helped assemble Blessing Baskets for needy families in our area. I already blogged about our day here, so if you missed it, make sure and check it out. It was a wonderful morning spent with a lot of caring and giving people!
After we assembled Blessing Baskets, we headed to Mimi's Cafe for a late breakfast. It was so good! I love their breakfast.
Jill and mom.

Brody ordered the Micky Mouse pancakes. They were shaped like a Mickey head. Cute!

He LOVED them!

Saturday evening, we got take-out and ate at home. Brody went to bed early, so Josh and I were able to just lay around and relax. We watched a few movies and I worked on our Thanksgiving cards. I will post the finished product this week after everyone had received them in the mail.

I also have had a "baking bug" lately. I am constantly wanting to bake things. I went through a similar phase when I was pregnant with Brody (I'm not pregnant this time) and I was always baking, but didn't really care to eat it...I just wanted to bake it. I have been baking things at least 2 or 3 nights a week for the past month. Saturday night, I decided to make cinnamon rolls. I had everything I needed at the house, so I just busted some out. It took like 4 hours from start to finish since I had to let the dough rise 2 hours, but it was totally worth it when these came out of the oven at 11:45 that night! :) I also made homemade cream cheese icing and it was SOOO good. I can't wait to eat another one later tonight. Sunday morning we went to church, which is my favorite part of our week! It was my Sunday to volunteer during the 10:55 Service. Another friend and I check babies and children into the computer system for the nursery. We usually do two Sundays on, then two Sundays off. This was our on Sunday. Well, we have been wearing these matching shirts every time we work. Apparently, they sent out an email this week that said not to wear them and I didn't get the email so I was the ONLY PERSON in the whole church in my 10:55 service shirt this morning. Really cool. I looked like a big dork! Luckily I wore a long cardigan over it so I could kind of hide it! :)
Sunday evening, we went over to my parent's house to eat. We don't get to eat with them on Sundays after church as much as we used to since we are doing the 10:55 service, so we went to eat with them tonight. Jill and Brandon ate with us, too. It was a lot of fun!

We just ate sandwiches and dips, etc, but my mom got bottle cokes for us to have with our meal, which was fun. I used to love these when I was little!

And of course, we had to eat off of Razorback red plates with Razorback napkins! :) We are so hardcore! :)

Hope everyone had a great weekend as well! I am looking forward to Thursday!

Blessing Baskets

Each year at Thanksgiving, our church does a ministry called Blessing Baskets. The cost of one Blessing Basket is $25 and our church encourages each member/family to give to cover the cost of at least one basket. The Saturday before Thanksgiving, we assemble the Blessing Baskets. Between our two church campuses, we were able to cover the cost of 4,000 Blessing Baskets. So today, we assembled 4,000 Blessing Baskets in the parking lot of the church! It began at 9am and we worked until about 11. I had to share some pictures with y'all! It was such a blessing to be a part of!

We met up with Jill and my mom there.

View of the parking lot!

These 3 trailers were being packed full of Blessing Baskets!

This was my job...double bagging the paper sacks that were used as the food "baskets". It took a lot of people to double bag 4,000 bags!

The fruit tables. These people bagged up oranges and apples for each of the baskets. All the boxes of fruit that had been bagged-up. One of the 3 assembly lines. They would start a bag at one end and just pass it down the tables. Each person put a non-perishable food item in the bag. There were probably 50-60 people at each of the 3 tables. They were moving bags FAST!Hundreds of people came to help this morning!Just a few of the hundreds and hundreds of boxes of food waiting to be put in bags. One of the 3 trailers they were filling up! Josh's job was to help move and stack bags in this trailer.Josh working in the trailer. Watching this young guy this morning just BLESSED me! I will never make an excuse not to serve again after seeing him. I'm sure it would have been easy for him to choose not to come help, but he unpacked box after box of cereal to be put on the assembly table. What a servant's heart!

Isn't it funny how when you go serve you are often blessed more than those whom you are serving? At least that is how I always feel. Josh and I both agreed that we want to participate in blessing baskets each year as a family. We want Brody to grow-up knowing that we are BLESSED!! We want him to understand the JOY that comes from giving and the JOY that comes from serving others. We pray that God gives him the heart of a servant and we pray that he will always choose to give rather than to receive.

In everything I showed you that by working hard in this manner you must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'
Acts 20:35

Random Things....

Here is another video of Brody walking. He is getting better every day. We call him Little Frank because he hold his arms out like Frankenstein when he walks! :)
video
Mom and I went to Oops today and we picked up a few little things for our Christmas trees. The colors I use are brown, copper, red, and icy blue. Hopefully, these little glittery things will look good stuck in there somewhere. I bought several of each thing. I think I am going to try and get my tree up this weekend....that is, if Josh will get in the attic and get it down! :)

I also bought some red mesh for a smaller tree I am going to put up in Brody's room. It is going to be Razorback themed. I think it will be super cute!

I think over the past several months I have been asked several times in the comments where I got Brody's monogrammed shoes and I always forget to post the link, but today I finally remembered! :) I found them here. Just know that you will have to wait a good 4 to 6 weeks before you get them in. They are great shoes and we have loved having them.

A few of you also asked me where I had our Christmas card made last year. My college friend, Leslie, made them. She is super talented and super sweet!! Since my Christmas tree colors are red, brown, and blue, she made our card to match. You can tell her exactly what you want, or if you find a picture of a card online, she can design yours to look just like it. She is really reasonable and she gets the cards printed VERY quickly! She also did our Easter card last year as well as Brody's birthday invitations. Go check out her blog!

OK, I think that's all! Hope y'all have a great weekend!

All I want for Christmas is....

The past week, I have been looking online for Christmas gifts for various people and I found a few that I wouldn't mind having, so here is my Christmas wish list so far.....

A Dyson vacuum cleaner
You now know how cool I am if one of the top gifts on my wish list is a $400 vaccum. You get a one year old who eats Gerber puffs and see if you don't want one of these, too! :)

A MacBook Pro
On second thought, it might not be a good idea for me to get one. Would I even put it down??

I love these cute boots from Bakers.
I also love these cute boots from there as well. I have a pair like these in black from there that I wear ALL THE TIME.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this cute purse! It comes in black and gray also. I really love the gray one, too. I still haven't bought any headbands, (although I wore one of Julee's this week) but I really like this one and I think that turquoise looks good with blond hair so I would give this one a try!
Such a CUTE dress that I love.
Another great dress...I love the stencil netting, especially on the sleeves.
Love this white coat! I love the pleats on the collar!
Really, I don't NEED ONE THING for Christmas. I have been blessed far beyond anything I could have imagined and I have the best two gifts already...my sweet husband and precious son.

What's on your Christmas wish list??

Fall Pictures

Here are just a few of the fall pics Wendy took of our family a couple of weeks ago. She took SOOO many cute ones of Brody. I can't wait to order them and get them framed. They may be all over our house because there are so many sweet ones to choose from. :)

Thankgiving Cards

Last year, I made Thanksgiving cards for our family. I am not really crafty, but I can glue a picture to some card stock and get some crafty things at Hobby Lobby and make it look pretty decent. :)
When I made the cards last year, I attached this picture to them. Brody had on his "Baby's 1st Thanksgiving" bib. So sweet!
Tonight, we tried to make cards again for next week. I attempted to trace his hand print to make a turkey, then let him color it. We got one card done before he needed a break. I think I may have to go trace his hand while he sleeps! At least then, he might be still for a moment! :)

Here is the hand print that I traced and he colored. I LOVE it! We are going to try and work on these some tomorrow. Hopefully, we will get them finished before Thanksgiving. I don't know though...at the rate we are going we may send some belated Thanksgiving cards out. Haha!
I will make sure and post the finished product!
