When Brody became potty trained a few months ago, he began waking-up early in the mornings so he could go to the bathroom. For the past month or two, he has been waking up between 5:30-6:00 most morning. If we are really lucky he might sleep until 6:30, but that’s only once every few weeks. For a while, I was trying to get-up before Brody, but I just can’t beat him most mornings. Josh is almost always awake when Brody wakes-up and has been encouraging him to go back to his room and rest or play quietly until it’s light outside. We are working hard on getting him to stay in his room past 5:30! :)
One of the perks to these early mornings is that Brody somehow learned how to work our Keurig. I guess he watched us use it enough and figured it out. Before he comes into our room to wake me up, he makes a cup of coffee for me and has it waiting for me under the Keurig. I usually wake-up most mornings to a sweet little voice saying, “Mommy, get up! Your french ba-nilla coffee is ready!” Such sweet words to this sleepy momma’s ear!

Here he is making coffee for me! He gets a stool from our table, turns on the machine, chooses the coffee (always French vanilla), and then makes the coffee! He knows not to move it once it is made so he doesn’t get burned. He also doesn’t take out the K-cup after he is done because he knows it’s hot, too. He literally just makes the coffee and walks away! :)

On our way to Mother’s Day Out yesterday, I heard his little voice from the backseat randomly say, “There is only one french ba-nilla left.” I asked him to repeat himself because I wasn’t sure what he was saying and as he repeated the same thing. I realized he was talking about coffee. When I got home from dropping him off, I checked our K-cup carousel and saw this. Only one French vanilla! :)

He was right, and I hadn’t even noticed since he was the one who had been making coffee!
When I picked him up from MDO I asked him if he would like to go buy some more k-cups. (We have tons of regular Folgers and Starbucks cups, but I love the flavored coffee best!) He was so excited to get to chose the coffee flavor. He walked straight to the coffee display, picked-up this box of French vanilla K-cup, and said, “Here it is! French ba-nilla!” Smart boy! :)

He also chose chocolate glazed-donut, which is one of our other favorites!

He was so excited about the new K-cups that he talked all night last night about how he was going to make chocolate donut coffee this morning! :) I’m so thankful for his servant’s heart! What blessed parents we are to have such a sweet little guy and to have a live-in barista! :)
