Last Day of MDO

Yesterday was the kids' last day of Mother's Day Out for the year!

I got a couple of sweet pictures before we left the house yesterday morning.

First Day, Last Day...apparently we have a thing for pink and for striped shirts! :)

Yesterday was not only our last day of MDO for the year, but it was Brody's last day of MDO ever. {I will not cry...I will not cry} He will be in PreK 3 full days in the fall.

Jillian grew and changed so much in just 9 short months. She kept her beautiful curls. Her hair has grown so much since the start of MDO, and her face has matured a lot in that short time.

Thankfully, this personality stayed with her the entire year! ;)

We celebrated the start of summer break with a stop at TCBY.

We have a few fun things planned for the summer! I'm looking forward to making a list of all the things we want to do this summer. Brody and Jillian have both started making requests! :)

Have a great weekend!

Mother's Day Weekend

Hi, there! It's Thursday and I'm just getting around to blogging about our weekend! :)

We had a fun Mother's Day weekend! I hope you did as well.

Josh got home from a 5 day trip to California, so we were happy to get to spend the weekend with him! We went to the Farmer's Market Saturday morning. It was perfect morning for it! Do y'all love going as much as we do? It's one of our favorite things to do on the weekends in the summer!

My grandmother (dad's mom) came in town on Saturday afternoon, so we went to see her that evening at my parents' house. We had not seen her in 2 months. Brody and Jillian were SO excited she came to visit!

Sunday, we went to church at our campus and then met my family for lunch.

The 4 moms at lunch! I'm so thankful for each of them.

Jill and I with mom.

Here is Jill on Mother's Day weekend! 30 weeks pregnant with Elliott! She's only gained 5-6lbs and is measuring a week ahead!
30 weeks pregnant

Clearly the weight gain thing isn't genetic because I had definitely put on 15lbs and 17lbs at this point in my pregnancies!

I'm blaming the fact that I had big babies and a love of carbs! :)

Hope you have a great day!

Last Day of School

Yesterday was Brody's last day of PreK 3! How in the world did this year go by so quickly?

I feel like just a couple of months ago we were here...

...and now we are here.
Yes, wearing the same outfit. I didn't plan that. When you have a uniform, your choices are limited to khaki shorts and a polo! :)

My little guy started Pre-K as a 3 year old and ended as a 4 year old. He grew so much this year: physically, emotionally and socially. He learned so many new and exciting things!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about his school and his teacher. I had prayed for someone who would be extremely patient and loving with Brody while still setting firm boundaries. His teacher was that and SO much more. We could not have found a teacher that was a better fit for him. She was a complete blessing to our family this year, and we are so grateful for her. I almost ugly cried when we told her good-bye on Tuesday, and I am not a crier. ;)

It's almost officially summer at our house now! We have our last day of MDO on Thursday, and then the fun begins! I'm so looking forward to fun, lazy days in the backyard with our babies.

When is your last day of school, or is it already summer at your house, too?? :)

Hope you have a great Wednesday!!

mothers day tea party

Today, Brody's PreK class hosted a Mother's Day Tea Party. I was happy to get to attend as this handsome boy's guest.

Over the past few weeks the kids had made several crafts to give each mom. We each had an assigned seat with all of our sweet, hand-made gifts. They asked us to send a picture of our child with their mom, so I the picture a few weeks ago. I loved that they used them for place cards for our seat.

Sweet  (big) handprint!

Each child answered a questionnaire about their mom. Brody's teacher read each one aloud so we could all hear what each child loved about their mom.

Brody's class with their wonderful teacher! I really wish she could just teach Brody through elementary school. :) She is the best!

My sweet boy!

I had such a fun afternoon with our little guy! I try to never take afternoons like this for granted. I know I am SO blessed to be a mom and to get to celebrate Mother's Day at school with my favorite little boy.

I hope you all had a great Tuesday!

Master Bathroom Accent Wall

We had planned to work in the yard on Saturday morning. Our flower beds are looking a little sad, so we had planned to start trimming, digging, and planting some things. We woke-up to a rainy, yucky (great for sleeping) Saturday morning.

Since we didn't have any plans I asked Josh if he wanted to paint an accent wall in our bathroom. Doesn't that sound exciting and random?? Ha! He was so sweet to agree to paint, and within a few minutes we were on our way to buy paint.

Here is the finished wall! It took just a couple of hours from start to finish.

Rose wall art from Target!

Before and After. The before wasn't bad, but I do like the after much better! :) I still need something for above the towel rack.

The color we used was Valspar Mudslide from Lowe's. I literally walked into Lowe's and picked a color within 30 seconds. I usually over-think things like this.

It worked out much better to just paint one wall instead of painting the entire bathroom a lighter color. The ceilings are pretty tall in our house and the bathroom is no exception. I'm sure no one would have been thrilled about tackling this paint job.

The tray ceiling in our room and the dinning room are next on my list of things that need to be painted!

Happy Wednesday!

weekend recap

We had a very low-key weekend with no plans. I love weekend like that, especially when I know the next several weekends will be busy!

It was yucky and rainy day Friday, so the kids and I just hung out at the house. Josh came home from work that evening with pizza, Sonic drinks and a movie. He's a keeper!! :) We had a lazy Friday night in our pajamas.

We were going to work in the yard on Saturday, but it was still rainy, so we did a few little projects around the house. That afternoon, I went to a local consignment sale with my sister and 2 of our friends! Pregnant moms get to shop early and bring a guest to shop with them, so I went as Jill's guest and shopped early. I found lots of cute outfits for Jillian and a few things for Brody.

Sunday night we celebrated Jill's birthday with my family!

I think Brody had turned this apple slice into something that flies at this point!

Jillian said, "I make your hair crazy"! :)

Cute birthday cake! I love mint and coral!

The birthday girl...28 weeks pregnant!

Good thing we had a fireman around with all those candles on the cake! ;)

Happy Birthday, Aunt Jill!

I hope you had a great weekend!

our week in iPhone pictures

Here are a few iPhone pictures from our week...

Jillian before MDO on Monday morning with her doll "Pink Pink". She is really into naming all of her dolls right now. Some of the names are Jennifer, Preslee, Pink Pink, Dora and Ping Ping.

Josh and I have been going to a bootcamp gym on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday nights. It's hard work, but so much fun! Lots of friends are in the class with us which makes it something we look forward to each week. They have childcare so all 4 of us go. Here's a pic of JK and me before we left the house Monday night!

After school milkshakes on Tuesday!

The kids played all afternoon Tuesday with Brody trucks. Jillian is obsessed with this purple tutu and polk dot jacket. Anytime we are home, she changes out her clothes right into this outfit. The tutu is a 6-12 month from Baby Gap and still fits her! Ha!

Brody didn't feel too hot on Wednesday morning so he spent a lot of the morning in our bed with the iPad and his untouched breakfast.

He felt better that later morning so we went to the library. We love the library!

Working hard on a puzzle!

That afternoon we made peanut butter cookies. I have been making my own peanut butter in our Vitamix. It's crazy easy to make, but I like to pretend I'm really domestic when I do this. ;)

I tried a new recipe and they were good, but I'm still parietal to flourless peanut butter cookies!

Jillian before MDO Thursday morning! Her cute outfit is from Diva Designs

I had a meeting at our Springdale campus Thursday, so Josh and I met for lunch at one of our favorite lunch places since we were close to each other. I love day dates!

Yum!

We went to Rick's Bakery on Thursday afternoon to order a cake and watched the cake decorators for a little while.

This is how Jillian ended her day yesterday.

I hope you have a great weekend!

weekend recap

The weekends just go by way too fast in my opinion! We tried to squeeze a lot of fun into our weekend! :)

Friday night was FNO, so Josh and I were able to go on a date while the kids played at church. We went to eat, TJ Maxx, Target and to Bliss for a cupcake!

Saturday was the Razorback football Spring Game. They also had Razorfest before the game, which is like a fun spring fling kind of thing. We headed to the stadium around lunchtime for all the fun!

Razorfest was crazy busy so we went on into the stadium about an hour before the game and hung out and ate.

The kids stayed entertained for quite a while with popcorn!

We only lasted until the end of the 1st quarter since the game was at the kids' nap time, but it was fun!

We were there long enough to Call the Hogs which was Jillian's favorite part!

We went home after the game and let the kids nap, then headed to the Razorback Baseball game last night. Our kids had been begging for cotton candy all day at every event, so we finally got some before the game.

Jillian loved it! Can you tell? ;)

Brody thought Jillian looked hilarious!

We had a lot of fun at the baseball game! I think we made it to the end of the 5th inning, which was pretty good considering the game didn't start until 7:30. We had 2 tired babies (and parents) after our fun day!

I took a few pictures of the kids before we went to church yesterday morning!

Unprompted hugs!

And a headlock from brother before we headed out the door!

I hope you all had a great weekend!
