We left Fayetteville on Father's Day afternoon and drove to Benton (3 hours), where we met up with Josh's parents. We left from their house and drove to Jackson, Mississippi (5 hours) and spent the night there. That was close to the half way point in our trip. Needless to say we were ready for a break after 8 hours in the car. We took our car and Josh's parents took their car because we had so much stuff!! Brody did AWESOME in the car. We were able just to drive until he needed to eat or have a diaper change.
Josh and Brody during one of our stops Sunday night. (Josh wears glasses when he works at the computer or drives at night. He is like an old man.)
Monday, we headed out around 8:00, after little to no sleep for Josh and me. Brody isn't a fan of the pack n play, so he basically he spent the entire night between us in bed. :)
The lack of sleep didn't bother him. He was very happy in the car!
I fed him in his car seat some so that we wouldn't have to stop, so we had a little quality time in the backseat together.
We stopped and ate lunch at Cracker Barrel. He looked like such a big boy in his high chair. We ordered him the veggie plate off the kids menu and he ate it all up!
We got into Destin around 3:00 and unloaded everything into our room. Then we changed clothes and headed to eat at the Crab Trap. It's one of our very favorites! Brody ate some corn on the cob with his dinner. Now that he has 8 teeth he can work the corn for sure!
We got back to the condo fairly early so we took Brody down to the pool to let him swim. He loves the water and loves trying to swim.

Brody and Josh by the beach.
Friday night, we dropped Brody off to attend FNO at church while we went on a date to the Arkansas Naturals' Baseball game. We had a lot of fun just hanging out and talking. It was so hot, but because the game was far from being sold out, we were able to move seats and sit in the shade.
Eating ball park food for dinner! It was sooo good
Saturday, my mom and I left my house at noon and drove to Benton (3 hours) to attend a wedding of some family friends. I grew up with the couple and their parents have been friends with my parents for years. I gave Josh and Brody the week off from attending a wedding. Mom and I stayed for just a short time at the reception and then headed back home. We got back to my house right around 9:00.

He couldn't figure out how he was going to crawl in it!

The 3 of us before the wedding. We didn't coordinate on purpose. It just kind of happened that way!
I was having a clothing crisis and couldn't find a dress in my closet that I wanted to wear. I hadn't seen all my friends since my baby shower in August and I felt the pressure to look like I had not birthed a baby this past year, so I called Jill and she brought over about 7 dresses for me to choose from. She saved the day!
Amy and Matt. She looked beautiful! I loved her dress!
Rachel, Nicole, Michelle and Me. Rach and Nicole were roomies and Michelle and I were roomies. The reception was a lot of fun. It was at Matt's parents house and they had a BBQ dinner with sweet tea which is one of my very favorite meals!
I seriously LOVE this picture of Brody and Kimbo that Becca took. Kimbo and I were suite mates our freshman year. She was probably one of the very first people I met at OBU.
Becca and Brody. Becca has a niece named Lottie. She is a couple of months older than Brody and I really think Brody wants to date her when they are older and go to OBU together. :)

Here is a picture of the cake. The bakery that we use was closed for the week, so we used another local bakery. I think they did a great job! The cake tasted just as good as the ones from Rick's.
The side of the cake was really cute as well!
Eating a few bites of cake. He loves it!

Mom was singing Ten Little Indians to Brody. Apparently, she does it a lot with him because he started pulling her fingers up as soon as she started singing!

We had a great evening with family and friends. I was a little nervous about Brody sitting through the fireworks. I thought he would cry or it would scare him, but he didn't even jump! He just sat in our laps and watched. At one point he started cooing and talking to the fireworks. It was really sweet!
In a cute little 4th of July outfit. He has 3, so he will be decked out most of the week!
He was feeding himself. I love how serious he looks in this picture!
Our friend, Baxter with Brody. I love this picture!
Jill and Allison. We have known Allison forever. She grew up with us in Benton.
